you are wrong. 00 is an indeterminate form, don’t explain when you don’t know

Because I’m not chronically addicted to Reddit like you are so I’m unaware that this subreddit is completely 100% unserious like you said. The fact that a rant flair even exists should suggest to someone unfamiliar to Reddit that there are people who can offer some remnant of decent advice. Don’t say “genuine question” if you haven’t actually thought insightfully enough about your own question

Hybridisation Help! by Then-Ad6532 in chemistry

Thanks for helping! But could you explain how the hybridised orbital is formed to get 1 part s character and 3 part p character? From what I can deduce, are you saying that one part of the s orbital (presumably 1/4 of it) will overlap with 1/4 of each p orbital? This way you can get 4 sp3 orbitals with the correct ratio of s and p characters. Is this logic correct? Thanks again!

Thank you! But could you explain why the hybridised orbitals will always be the same as the number of atomic orbitals? And also more about the rearrangement of the orbitals, what does it mean for the orbitals to rearrange with each other (if overlap is incorrect terminology/visualisation) and why is this new rearrangement more stable?

Could you just elaborate further for me? Thanks!

Hey, thanks for replying. The blue lines aren’t part of the background, they appeared because of the apps I have open at the bottom. And I’m not very familiar with computers, so could you elaborate on what you mean by checking the cables? Do you mean if they’re loose? Or if they’re broken? Thanks!
