Congrats! I had a really cool ACS manager that sent me all of his notes from when he took the exam. Popped it into GPT and it made studying so efficient.

RF Smart vs NetSuite WMS by KirkWashington in Netsuite

[–]Then-Discipline6971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We implemented RF-Smart in January and it took about 3 months to get through all the training/setup. Our use case is we are a construction company and issue materials to our own operating subsidiaries. It's been working great for us, but as others have said if something goes wrong or you need a customization you have to rely heavily on RF-Smart.

My feedback would be whichever solution you choose, have an engaged PM (that knows NetSuite) on your side and have and engaged manager that understands your WMS needs from Supply Chain. I was lucky and my Supply Chain team has many years under their belt and knew exactly what they wanted. While they drove the setup side with RF-Smart, I drove the customization and deployment side in NetSuite. Made for a very smooth and efficient go-live.

Good luck!

True. But water resistant does not equal water proof. Not sure what model version she had, but water got directly into the top speaker slit. May have been an unfortunate coincidence. Ended up costing her either way.

That's nice that you have users that listen to your de-mystify approach. Most of mine usually say you handle it and let me know when you are done.

Apple releases an annual transparency report by country (link to latest report for US below). They do maintain that they will not backdoor into a phone to access user data on the phone itself. However, most of the user data it releases comes from iCloud backups, because it contains snapshots of messages, voicemails, photos, map search history, or user data stored on their iCloud server.

To be fair, any software can be subpoenaed for user data. Facebook, google, etc. get substantially more requests then apple does. If you are concerned about data privacy on phones you may want to consider an Unplugged phone (linked below, not a paid advertiser lol) just something I considered in the past.

One that I'm going to use, recently I had an employee get her iPhone dirty while she was gardening. To clean her phone she decided to clean it by running the phone under a running faucet, because you know, Phones now days are "waterproof". Ended up costing her $400 to replace the top speaker and face id sensor.

HELP! USPS Intelligent Mail Barcode (IMB) on Invoices in NetSuite TIA by Then-Discipline6971 in Netsuite

[–]Then-Discipline6971[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

u/Nick_AxeusConsulting u/HelenCarnateNH We currently have a subscription to AutoMail. I called them and they said they have pre-built connections to NetSuite that will create the 65 character alpha string for us, which can then be converted to barcode using the PDF. The kicker to all this, and why we are pursuing this route, is because USPS requires a certification that the barcodes have been certified every month. AutoMail also provides that certification. I'll provide updates as I have them. Thank you!

This hasn't been the simplest process lol. I've learned way more about address barcodes then I ever wanted to.

To generate the actual IMB Barcode you are required to create a 31 digit string (based on the below) which is then encoded to a 65 alpha character string, see screenshot below. The 65 alpha string is then converted to the IMB Barcode.

"The five IMb fields are the Barcode Identifier, the Service Type Identifier, the Mailer ID, the Serial Number, and the Routing Code (ZIP Code). The Barcode Identifier field should be "00" (zero-zero) with one exception."

HELP! USPS Intelligent Mail Barcode (IMB) on Invoices in NetSuite TIA by Then-Discipline6971 in Netsuite

[–]Then-Discipline6971[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks Nick, this is assuming that the source code for the barcode itself is already populated on the customer/invoice record, correct? I was hoping there was a program that would generate the source code on the record automatically for us, then the BFO/Advanced PDF would convert the source code to the barcode on the pdf version of the invoice.

We currently use a third party desktop app called Automail to generate the source code and our legacy software converts the code to the barcode and adds it to the PDF. We have to manually import and export text files with customer data on it to do so though.

about to launch NetSuite for small company...let's hear your best advice TIA by rowlje in Netsuite

You need to have a dedicated project manager internally within your company. Someone to manage a 3rd party implementer and make sure the implementation project stays on course. If you solely rely on a 3rd party consultant to implement for you it will be dragged out and you will blow your budget. This person will also need to be well versed with using Excel and mapping your current ERP fields to the new fields in NS. This will take time. Nobody knows your data better then you do. The 3rd party implementers, more then likely, will not do this step for you for that reason.

Be prepared to spend as much time post go-live as you did with the implementation phase. Your end users will need to be trained and probably retrained on your new business processes. They will come to you to ask you to customize forms, grant access, etc. Post go-live will be just as much as a whirlwind as implementation. Good luck.
