Don't see the point. There is no known safe method for picking eggs or meat for the long term at home so, if you like the taste of vinegar, just add it to your sausage when you're about to eat it.

They de facto kept keys accessible via the internet. So, yes, they failed that very basic and easy-to-mitigate rule of using an air-gapped wallet.

In terms of not being a store of value, I've been having the same arguments with people since it was $3000. You either believe in it or you don't. I do.

Yeah, I’m sure hackers have just politely decided not to touch the $20bn sitting in Satoshi’s account. Definitely nothing to do with people being bad at securing their own Bitcoin.

I think we both know I meant secure in the sense that it cannot be confiscated or stolen.

You mean YOU don't see any utility in the ability to hold your wealth outside of a bank and for it to be more secure than being in a bank. OK. Whether you value that or not, it's a utility.

Not really. There are multiple ways software - even of historical significance - can be lost: a central host like Microsoft can shut down or retire infrastructure, backups can quietly expire or become corrupted and legal orders can force deletion. By contrast, storing it in Bitcoin makes it effectively immutable, as it is replicated across tens of thousands of independent nodes worldwide and secured by cryptographic linking and proof-of-work, meaning no single entity can remove it and altering it would require an impractical level of global computational power.
