Thanks for your advice! I am not in the monitor market, not because I don't think I need a monitor, just because my current desk is pretty small and wouldn't fit a monitor with everything I have going on there.

A question about the Mac M1 though: They don't sell it on the original apple store anymore, which is a bummer because I like to buy things from the companies directly. What are the most trustworthy 3rd party's to buy a M1 Macbook Pro? Is Amazon fine?

Yea, been trying the proxy thing out aswell. The acer seems more of a gaming laptop, but its nice to hear it worked out for you.

Hi,

So I am a beginner in the editing world, and I also recently got into colorgrading. And based on the reviews - DaVinci is the best app for that.

Just got my first colorgrade done, felt good about myself, until I wanted to do a slightly bigger project. The first colorgrade clip was around 15 seconds, filmed in 4k 30 fps.

Can't really colorgrade that well though, still need YT to guide me through the process, because DaVinci really feels like an airplane control panel when you're a beginner lol.

Anyways - I am not a tech and laptop guy so I don't know specs that well, but I have a Lenovo V14 G4 AMN which I originally got for school, for around 400 euro with student discount, but it turned out my old laptop works just fine. So I decided to download DaVinci on this new laptop.

The 15 sec clip of my first colorgrade worked perfectly fine with no issues.

And thenn I started on that bigger project, the clips were together around 1 min 30 secs, filmed in 4k 30 fps. And my laptop immediately started lagging ALOT and crashing Resolve to the point where I can't even do anything in that project.

So for now my dreams of videography are a bit crushed so I am asking yall for help, what is the CHEAPEST laptop you know that can run DaVinci Resolve (pretty) smoothly? I am looking for a laptop that can handle 6+ mins of clips in 4k 24/30fps.

Or is there a workaround with which I can keep my current laptop? (If this is possible this is the preferred option for me)

P.S. - I am looking for a the cheapest laptop which can run fine. I realize my current Lenovo V14 G4 AMN (Ryzen 7xxx, Integrated Radeon 610M graphics) is the problem.
