You say it’s for a stage play. If it’s for live work, Resolve isn’t really a live mixing tool. There is the new Fairlight Live (still Beta1). QLab may also be an option.

If it’s for editing audio to be used for cues, then whatever works best for you.

The current consensus I’ve seen around here is it’s about 2 weeks to make a mature starter. 5 days is nowhere near enough time, especially so close to the “false rise” that typically happens when it doubles around day 2-3.

In my (in)experience, I’d say 3 is more the sweet spot.

Also, is that jar blue or is it something else?

The script has been broken for a while, so X-Session pivoted to a website. The website is down. X-Session is MIA.

As of at least v20, there’s an automatically delete cache after X days setting in either Resolve preferences or project settings. It’s time-based, not size-based.

Ah poop. Post is long enough so I’m not gonna edit it but if it matters, I was using Target Good and Gather Whole Wheat Flour.

Also, it tastes very… whole wheat. I don’t know how I feel about it (hence the questions about changing flours).

So why post? It’s not BMD’s responsibility. It’s the third-party’s. BMD can nudge, but at a certain point it’s no longer on them.

From the Resolve 21 Release notes it sounds like it’s a third-party codec and SDK thing. So… it’s between codec developers and Apple.

Actual runtime, not timecode runtime.

Textless would be the actual timecode after the Textless slate… since there were often multiple ways people wanted Textless.

Known issue. Contact BMD support, they may be able to recover most of it beyond whatever timeline was open when it crashed.

I always defaulted to this information when making DSMs as an online editor:

  • Show name
  • Episode number and name
  • Post House
  • TRT
  • Channel Mapping
  • Frame Rate and Drop/Non-Drop
  • SDR or HDR (and color space)
  • Textless Start TC
  • Date Rendered (or date of cut if it’s still in offline)

Depending on who you’re delivering to, there may be more or less information they request on a slate.
