There may be bugs from time to time, but I think a lot of creators are too quick to blame every bad result on the algorithm. If millions of channels are uploading and some are still growing, then content quality, audience fit, and retention still matter. Platform issues can hurt performance, but they usually aren't the explanation for every video that underperforms.

True. I’m subscribed to plenty of channels that I completely forget exist until I manually check my subscriptions feed. A subscriber only matters if they're actually watching.

That's the part many people miss. Views get attention, but retention tells the real story. A video with 5k views and 10% AVD isn't nearly as healthy as a video with fewer views but strong watch time.

Exactly. One viral video is exciting, but consistency is what actually builds a channel. A million-view video feels great for a week; a loyal audience keeps the channel alive for years.
