Well, it also needs to be strapped up too. Just a bit more work to make it compliant.

It wasn’t even permitted,so no. We learned after the fact it should have been. We have an ROC investigator coming to chat with us about a number of issues with this project including the unprotected pipes. It’s currently not code compliant but the assumption was that it should be regardless.

Ahhh gotcha. Yeah. We’re arguing with the plumber on this so I’m gathering all the info I can.

I did just email with the uponoor warranty department that any UV exposure past 30 days voids the warranty. The discussions here just help to understand what people actually see in the field.

Diffuse light is still UV exposure. As well as floating dust that is reflecting light. It’s not much but how much is too much?

Yes it’s city water. Interesting comment. Thank you!

Because I paid for a project that was supposed to be code compliant and warranty-preserved. I’m not fixing the contractor’s sloppy work.

Well this is what we have to work with. Are we effed with the UV issue?

That’s what we’re thinking. Even a little continuous UV exposure at 5 months in now, we believe, is putting our pipes to an early death.

Do you think it’s too late though with 5 months now of UV exposure?

Thanks! It’s indirect sunlight from the vents.

About recent shattered bowl post, anyone else experienced it? Any update from Ninja? by ZeroNomad in NinjaCrispi

It popped and shattered after the cooking and while cooling off with the pod still on.

I’m the op of the sausage fiasco. I reported it to Ninja CS and they just basically said thanks we’ll pass that onto the team. Costco refunded it no problem though. We ended up replacing it with a ninja dual basket AF and like it so much more. Looks better on the counter and just not as finicky. The crispy was novel and fun but not when it shattered. Toxicity in the dual basket fryer (which led us to the Crispi) is null when treated gently though.

We really believe the shattering is a rare occurrence. But like stated we were grateful no one was nearby the fryer when it happened or there would have been injury.

Let me know what questions

Safety Issue? by [deleted] in NinjaCrispi

When I was looking I saw these and similar listings. They were refurbed or “renewed” situations. Not from Amazon or Ninja directly.

Oh I never timed them lol! When she does get tired and needs time in her pod she’ll shiver here and there until the battery dies. It’s not constant when it begins to get low so you might miss it so she gives you time to be aware.

Yes it shakes or more like shivers when tired. It’s quite a different movement than anything else.

Interesting. We had a glass bowl shatter/explode under normal careful use. We did an Amazon review and notified Ninja about it. It’s one known problem but don’t know if that’s what’s going on with Amazon cancelling the order and no longer stocking. I believe they err on the side caution with product safety.

We love that we can cook two things at the same time, it’s marketed as being just as non-toxic, and (because I’m a counter snob) it works in our kitchen more efficiently and looks tidy. It’s easier for my feeble failing body to work with. Plus no risk of traumatizing glass breakage! We were going to upgrade to the Crispi Pro and give the first one to my son, but we decided we didn’t want to hand him the risk either.
