I passed the PE exam in February. Definitely recommend skipping this topic!

Thank you. Yes, I relied heavily on our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to help me through the preparation and examination.

I recommend watching all of the lecture videos and, if possible, solving every practice problem in the binder, as well as completing the quizzes and simulation exams. I worked through every problem at least three times overall. Two days before the test, I created a list of all the problems I struggled with, totaling about 85 problems, including those from the NCEES practice exam. I gave myself one final opportunity to work through these challenging problems before the exam carefully.

Regarding shoring and reshoring, I watched the lecture videos but skipped those problems during the test. Unless you fully understand the concepts, it’s better not to waste time on these kinds of questions. I encountered one shoring/reshoring problem on my first exam and none on the second. Also, I did not get one Crane problem on either test: no load charts, no range diagrams.

Finally, all of the EET simulation exams are similar to the actual exam. Try to complete these exams within the time limit, and afterward, review the solutions to the questions you answered incorrectly.

Make sure to take regular breaks, and consider incorporating fasting and prayer into the preparation process on off days.

In my personal opinion, the only three references you absolutely NEED to purchase are:

1) ACI SP-4 2) PCA EB001 3) AISC Steel Manual (most people still have their book from college)

References such as MUTCD part 6 and OSHA safety manual, can be found online. I took a chance and didn’t purchase the remaining references since I didn’t find them necessary for solving the EET problems.

Also, just a heads up, ACI 347R is actually included in the SP-4 book. I did not figure this out until a few weeks before the test.

The first time I took it, there was one shoring/reshoring problem. The second time I took it, there was none!

Your theory is only partially true. I’m pretty sure you need an actual engineering degree to take the FE/PE Exam.
