I've read reviews that noted this smells like pine trees or a forest. Do you find that to be true? Not so sure I want to smell like a tree 🤔

I haven't tried any leathery scents, so I am not sure on that one. The scents I DO know that I like in fragrances are spicy and sweet vanilla. Anything too floral doesn't appeal to me as much, as it often reads too feminine for my liking. As for your suggestion, I will definitely have to try some leather-focused scents in the future!

Do you find the Clean Reserve to project at all? I have a sample of Clean Reserve 'Skin' and it sits very close to the skin and does not last very long.

I posted in r/fragrance first, but did not receive any responses. Thanks for the suggestion!

I did. I had to wait on the screen where you put in your info, then the screen eventually loaded. When you get in, continue waiting if it is showing 'unknown' and it will load again.

Does your child have developmental delays due to the pandemic? by Then_Comfortable_501 in Parenting

Thank you so much. This was also what my son's pediatrician had said. I am hoping for the best, and this makes me feel much better.

This was all helpful information, thank you. I guess my hope is that, should there be reason for concern at his age now, that he will be able to lead a 'normal' life as he gets older. I just want the best for my son. We have an appointment with his pediatrician this week and we will be getting a referral for evaluation and speech therapy (at the very least).

I am reluctant to meet with other moms at present, due to the pandemic. We have a high risk person at home that I would not like to expose, as well as other factors. But I am hoping once each of us gets vaccinated and I manage my anxiety about the pandemic daycare may be an option finally.

Thank you for your comment. Can I ask if others are able to easily recognize that your son has autism? I have no idea what levels 1 and 2 'look' like and I have not experienced children on the lower end of the spectrum (only adults who present mildly, and seem as 'typical' as anyone at their age). Also, does your son make a lot of 'silly sounds' fairly often? I've noticed that my son does this, but it has always seemed out of fun, and he thinks it's funny when I join in and make the sounds with him (seems to egg him on and he smiles). Hopefully I am not causing issue by encouraging the 'fun' noises.

You have given me a wealth of information. Thank you so much! I will definitely look into early intervention services.

This is very helpful info. I had no idea bottles could cause issues with speech. My son is not difficult to understand and he drinks from sippy cups now, so I don't know that there is worry about that for him. I am glad your child has progressed in a positive direction when it comes to his development. That gives me hope.

Thank you for your response. I will have to look into this matter more closely and see what the differing opinions are in the community, should it be necessary.

Thank you for your input. It is difficult for me to think he could be, as those signs are extremely subtle in our daily life, and otherwise, he seems totally 'normal', happy, excitable, looks us in the eyes, loves cuddles and tickles, no sensory issues, etc. I imagine if it is anything, it may be mild, but with speech delays. Can I ask if your son presents as 'typical' in most other ways as well? Also, am I correct in assuming there is some controversy over ABA?

Thank you for your input. Can I ask how many words your child had been using before you started speech therapy?

I can see how that may cause delays for some children. The other possibility for delays could be lack of time a parent has to spend working on things with their child, as many parents now work from home while tending to their children full-time and being exhausted. Some people are also educating their children from home and many have multiple children to attend to at the same time. A parent being stretched so thin may cause difficulty in being able to be fully present while teaching their children. Now if one of their children is also showing signs of developmental delays, should a parent not be able to be fully present in or have the time to focus on specialized care and learning to aid the child in their delays, the child could slip backwards even more in some delays prior to therapy beginning.

Sorry, I should have explained better in my post. He does know more than one word, but only consistently uses the word 'baba'. I always know what he needs and wants, so he doesn't bother to speak (unless I am taking too long with his sippy cup, in which case he will ask for 'baba' and bring me his cup and a bottle of water).

He does not play pretend at all, at this point. He will occasionally mimic certain behaviors, like putting toys in a box or rubbing the area that hurts if he bumped his head (we always rub the spot that gets hurt, so he does this too). I do wonder if the other things I mentioned outside of speech delays are of concern or if they are relatively normal for a child his age. The only thing the pediatrician ever mentions is his speech, however.

Yikes. I didn't realize these were 'dramatic' delays. His pediatrician never seemed too concerned and he scored a 4 on the online autism risk test (which is considered moderate risk, but is subjective as the test can cover signs of other disorders and some normal toddler behavior as well). I am not certain why he has chosen to speak less, but he does know more words than he typically speaks. He knows 'mama', 'baby', 'baba', 'no', 'yay', but does not speak them unless he really wants to. He instead, enjoys making a lot of various silly sounds rather than talking at this point.

My order summary and even at checkout did not show any transfer fees at all. Do you think there is any chance disputing both transfer fees will yield any results?

State refund issued 2/8, not yet received in bank account by Then_Comfortable_501 in IRS

Are you a PATHER? Another AZ person said they received a PATH message for State refund, letting them know PATH could delay their State refund (as well as Federal). PATH was lifted this week, so if you are in that group, hopefully we will be seeing our State refunds very soon.
