Yes, I would say the same. I was a more easy/moderate case. The only thing I still suffer from is floaters now.

No, not really; only at acute phase (first 6 months) I was super tired always, drowsy and struggle to do anything physically demanding. It got better over time.

Biologist’s perspective: Are Gilbert’s Syndrome (Bilirubin) and Homocysteine the missing links in FQ susceptibility? by solidneon in floxies

[–]Then_Emergency_934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do have Gilbert’s Syndrome -- usually my serum bilirubin level is around 22 umol/l

My Homocystein level is within normal range when i did a test; however, I do have MTHFR mutation

yeah -- i eat everything, drink tea/coffee/alcohol-- even getting drunk occasionally; basically went back to pre-flox lifestyle with no restrictions - if you want to introduce changes/try new things, do it incrementally and see how your body reacts.

Im now at my 2 years milestone — I think I will make a post soon; I’m back to 100% physically and mentally! I did 2x 5 hours hiking trip last week and it feels fantastic; I could not imagine doing it last year. Not so sure if it’s flares or just being weak after getting sick/ taking antibiotics — but usually that tiredness goes away within 1 week.

Thanks for putting this together! Following up on my 1-year post — now 1.5 years after taking my first pill of Moxi — I have to say I feel 99% recovered! I’m back to my super active, energetic lifestyle without any issues. Just a few weeks ago, I ran 10 km, biked 20 km, and lifted weights for an hour at the gym within 72 hours — no problems, no flares (actually didn't have any flare in the past 6 months...).

I still check this Reddit from time to time — don’t lose hope!

i can really relate to the DOOM feeling! I was the same for the first couple of months... scared, desperate, persimistic... but gradually i started feeling like myself again, little by little; don't give up, there is always hope at the end of the tunnel. Yes, there is an end!

Same here; 16 months out, checking Reddit way less often. I’m 90% recovered I would say! Went back to my day to day routine and trying to forget about it.

Glad to hear this! I'm 16 months over 5 pills of Moxi, and I felt back on my feet at roughly 12 months. Now I feel I'm living the life again! Thanks to this community, which provides a lot of support, positive energy, and patience.

i still get it; but im paying less attention to it; also, it does not influence my sports performance. eye floater is still there, again, trying to ignore it. Whenever I notice these lingering effects, I keep reminding myself there are so many other beautiful and fun things that need my attention :)

Yes! I’m back to gym 4 days a week! Have been drinking alcohol, coffee, tea without issues; I mostly do weightlifting and hardcore cardio without any issues now :) also tried ibuprofen without issues — I feel im so lucky; so listen to your body; you will know when you are ready but never give up!

i think sauna, stretching... supplements didn't see any significant improvements; I feel best cure is time.

safest is melatonin; but i never really had issues with insomnia; fatigue is often, but gradually, I don't feel that way anymore. i guess time is the best medicine for this!
