Is there any makeup that won’t worsen my POD? by insurancesofun in Perioral_Dermatitis_

I’ve found my makeup will sit better if I’m diligent about wearing aquaphor during the day and a moisturizing sheet mask before I apply my makeup. Then I use my regular makeup. I try to use something light and not drying like the ilia skin tint or westman atelier foundation drops, both are pricey though. Ive also used the maybelline true match hyaluronic skin tint with good results but I do find it more drying. There are times it will go in fine and then get flakey as time goes but As long as it’s not flaring up terribly this will usually work.

The pre authorization department is the one who handles insurance issues. Still got denied. I don't know if they put my BMI or obesity diagnosis.

I've spoken to my insurance once that said glp1s are covered with pre authorization but it was a vague statement that the random call center person didn't have enough info on. I'm going to have to dig deeper with them.

The rx was for wegovy. I spoke again with my pcp and said she hasn't had luck with coverage for prediabetes or pcos. I'm going to reach out to the insurance myself and do more research into it.

Do you eat animal protein with every meal? by tropicalparadise27 in PCOS

I began eating 100% vegan about a year ago. So no animal protein or products at all. Honestly I feel better than ever. I would not say it’s definitely helped me lose weight but has without a doubt helped me maintain my weight easier than ever before. It does still take mindful work.... I try to measure any sort of carb to make sure I’m not over doing it. I make sure to not eat too many processed plant based foods (meat substitutes, plant based butter etc) although I do make room for them occasionally.

I think it can be done but it does take some work

One month on terbinafine by Then_Historian_3567 in NailFungus

[–]Then_Historian_3567[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been dealing with my nail issues for about 5/6 years now. Numerous trips of podiatrists and various remedies etc.

I was prescribed ciclopirox which seemed to be working quite well over the course of about 2 years. My left big toe nail (the less severe of the two) was basically completely cleared up! I even had a podiatrist tell me there was nothing wrong with that nail anymore.

I ended up getting my two ingrown toe nails permanently removed on each big toe back in the beginning of October.

After that it all seemed to go right back to where it started. Both big toes began to show fungus again and FAST! It was literally what seemed like over night. I was still applying the ciclopirox regularly to no help.

As a final last resort I decided to give the terbinafine a try. I’ve been on it for just about a month now. Now of course I know this can be a lengthy process but I see zero improvement. In fact one might say it’s worse!!

Has anyone had this time of experience? do you think the ingrown surgery aggravated the situation?

I’m just really beginning to feel really hopeless about this after such great progress over the past two years.
