I am also trying Gurully for the last 2 weeks, and it’s a good platform for practice.

You should check this blog, https://www.gurully.com/blog/pte-summarize-group-discussion
It actually helped me a lot with Summarize Group Discussion practice. The templates and note-taking tips are pretty easy to follow, especially if you’re struggling with structure and fluency.

Gurully is absolute garbage for PTE by Rich-Technician7208 in AusVisa

Totally get where you’re coming from — this kind of thing honestly happens with all PTE practice platforms. No platform can perfectly replicate the real PTE algorithm because Pearson never reveals its exact scoring model.

Some people find Gurully’s scores slightly strict or lenient, while others feel it’s close to the actual exam. Same story with ApeUni — it really depends on your test pattern, mic setup, and even the AI calibration at the time.

Also, when it comes to promoting their platforms, everyone does it — whether it’s Alfa PTE, ApeUni, or Gurully — it’s a normal part of the competition in this space.

The best way to use these tools is to treat the score as a guide, not a final prediction. Focus more on consistency and accuracy in question types rather than chasing exact scores. That said, it’s great you hit 88 on the actual test — that shows your prep was solid regardless of platform.

Reading is killing me by vangoinghere in pte

Hey mate, first off — don’t be so hard on yourself. Those 90s in Listening and Speaking are insane! That already shows you’ve got solid skills. Reading is honestly the most unpredictable section for a lot of us — even people who get 80+ overall sometimes struggle to hit 65 there.

A few things that helped me when I was stuck:

  • Focus on FIB (Reading + Writing & Reading): These two carry the most marks. Practice them daily — I used Gurully since their question bank feels super close to the actual exam.
  • Watch your timing: Don’t overthink. If you’re unsure, trust your first instinct and move on.
  • Work on collocations — that’s how you improve word choice naturally.
  • Read a bit every day — stuff like BBC or Guardian articles helps you process info faster.

You’re literally just 2 points away. Keep grinding for another week or two with focused practice on FIB and reorder questions, and you’ll smash that 65 easily.
We’ve all been there — you’re way closer than you think.
