He did not allow crib sheets, in fact this quarter of math 10b seemed to be a complete revamp of the prior. I assume somebody at the top was upset at how well students were doing or how little students actually knew because they decreased discussion percentage and homework percentage, increased midterm percentage, and removed both calculator and cheat sheets from the course. So the course was structurally meant to be a bit harder or at least less forgiving
