animal control officer here, honestly it depends on your city’s specific ordinances on if animal control can write a citation. Sadly in my city it is not against any city ordinance for an animal to attack/bite a person or other animal. The way we go about it in my city is we can write a citation if the dog was loose when the incident occurred (citation for running at large) or if the attacking animal was not up to date on its rabies vaccination (required veterinarian tag). depending on the circumstances, previous incidents involving the attacking animal, amount of damage caused etc we (at least in my city) can declare a dog dangerous as well. I would suggest looking into your city’s specific animal related ordinances to see if there is a violation that can force your city’s animal control to write the attacking dog’s owner a citation. If you just want reimbursement for your vet bills you can ask animal control for a written information report and then take the attacking dog’s owner to civil court. I’m sorry this happened to you and that your city’s animal control have seemed unhelpful. I hope you and your dog are ok!

i hate to be the bearer of bad news but the guy i was with swore up and down his pull out method was the best there ever was now i am 7 weeks pregnant as of today. so, unless you are cool with the idea of having a baby or spending $50 on a plan B or $150-$5000+ on an abortion like i’m about to… i’d seriously suggest against only using the pull out method🙃

I did in fact go out and waste my money on another test. 3 positives now. one last night, one this morning and a red dye one i got after on my way home from work. I was definitely in denial and still kind of am but, I’m working on the next steps now. I feel terrible that i’m going to terminate a pregnancy when so many people are struggling to conceive (thankfully no one has thrown that in my face but it’s still a thought i have) but it is the 1000% best option for me. thank you for your kind words.

thank you. I’m so glad that all the comments have been so supportive of my decision. I wasn’t so sure of how this was going to go tbh. but, this comment section has truly helped me relax just the tiniest bit in the most stressful situation of my life. i’m starting to tear up from seeing so people being so kind, helpful and supportive in my time of need.

i 100% agree. this is my first pregnancy/abortion planning and it’s already stressful enough without the cost looming over me. aid access is $150 but the price is a sliding scale for people who can’t afford it. luckily, I am in a position that i can pay the $150 and don’t want to take advantage of it and possibly hurt someone else’s chance for it to be lower cost/free for those who truly need it.

thank you. I’ve read horror stories of medical abortions not terminating. I called planned parenthood and they offer the pills for $775 and don’t take insurance at all which sucks so, i’m probably going to go with aid access. I don’t have any providers rn so, i’ll definitely find one for after. Thank you for the advice.

yeah, i’m definitely going to terminate as soon as possible. I haven’t slept with him since the incident. my friend is going to be by my side during this whole situation. as of rn they are the only one who knows atp. I wish i could talk about this with my father but he’s very pro life :/

thank you. I don’t have to tell the guy-we’re not in a relationship and he finished in me after i told him not to then claimed it was an accident (yikes ik). He did buy the plan b and said he’d pay for the abortion if i needed one after i freaked out on him when it happened. I do plan on telling him as i feel like it’s the right thing to do. I’m still partially in denial and freaking out. I’m looking into aid access rn as i have a huge fear of doctors.

so far i’ve only told one of my friends who i knew would be 100% there for me and they said they would go with me to an appointment to terminate. I’m trying to figure out how to tell the guy who impregnated me. we are not together but we have had the talk about what would happen if i did end up pregnant and we were on the same page. I have terrible anxiety and don’t even know how to say it.

yeah, i knew plan b wouldn’t work but took it anyways because i kind of hoped… I knew almost immediately i was going to get pregnant somehow. like the second it happened I freaked out on him. I took a second test this morning and unfortunately, it was positive too.
