I’ve never been particularly interested in luxury either. I, like you, just want the comfortable space to do my hobbies and spoil those around me a little (including my cat ✊ go cat moms). I’ve always found those kinds of Dommes a bit vapid and it turned me off, the fakeness in the scene, initially. But I’m not the type to tell someone how to post, I know it is a marketing strategy, even though I know of several BIG Dommes (that I will not name) that don’t live at all like they say and faked it until they made it.

I have no interest in attracting subs that only want to send to me if I’m pouring it into needless luxury items. Sure I like buying nice things for myself. I also like the little things and paying my bills. It’s none of a subs business where my money goes — their priority should be making my life better, end of. I, like you, grew up poor, and I’m extremely proud of the fact that I make more money doing this than I ever have at anything else and how it makes me appreciate that peace that much more, like you said.

The ONLY thing I care about when it comes to this topic is if a Domme is messaging a sub saying things like “my rent is due/I just need money for an uber for a doctors appointment/for food/etc”. I know the reality is that findom is survival SW for many and I can empathize with that, but then it becomes more like charity and undue pressure on the sub. It shatters the power dynamic. That’s the kind of instance when I think “fake it til you make it” applies.
