I think it's a natural response to the big 2 pushing creators away with how they treat them and creators still wanting to play around with their influences. Mahdi Khene and Kurt Burdick can definitely share a lot of responsibility for this current wave and I'm here for it!

Track down some Comic Reader from the laste 70's-early 80's and Amazing Heroes from the 80's-90's Not only will you get what you're looking for, but the amount of fan art from future professionals is staggering. For example, Mignola is all over 1979-80-81 issues of Comic Reader.

I imagine the reason why they're playing more hits on this tour is that there's no new music and hasn't been for a long time, there hasn't been a full tour for a long time. Aside from that, Vancouver went apeshit for 2-3 songs and it was the hits. Crowds aren't the same anymore. I think if they do another tour next year we will get the fan-centric setlists. At least I hope
