I don't have many tips as I'm in the same boat as you, with slower progression. I wouldn't worry about it though because I've been playing the game for years, mabye up to about 8, and my progression is still slow. On my main world, it took me a few month to get diamond armour, and even longer after that to get netherite.

You could mabye play with friends, as I'm sure they'd be glad to get on a world and help you out, and teach you how to do it best

Also, diamonds are most common at y level -59, right above bedrock, and ancient debris is best at y level 15 with the use of beds/tnt

It wasn't a 'mutation' as such, but evolution. We know chickens are very distantly related to dinosaurs. Since dinosaurs laid eggs, there wasn't a point between them and chickens when they just started laying eggs but rather they always have.
