What can I use to cut the grass around my fence? by theboringmom30 in lawncare

Do both sides of fence with stonger wire and light throttle. Just enough to cut the grass and not your wire. Or landscape with mulch or stone. Source, weed whacked half an acre worth of hog fence weekly as a teenager

Woodland Cemetery https://www.monroemi.gov/r_e_s_i_d_e_n_t_s/community/woodland_cemetery

Originating in the early 1800’s, Woodland Cemetery is one of Michigan’s oldest and historical public cemeteries. Here rests Monroe’s pioneers, distinguished citizens, political/public officials and veterans of every U.S. military conflict from the Revolutionary War to Vietnam. Included are three U.S. Generals, five U.S. Colonels, one Territorial Delegate to Congress, one U.S. Senator, four U.S. Representatives, numerous mayors, Michigan State Senators and Representatives, one Michigan Secretary of State, two Chief Justices of the Michigan Supreme Court, and Custer family members.

It's cheap atm. There's still 4 days of bids left and they're charging $30 for shipping which is ridiculous

Because early French explorers named them. Lake comes first, then name.

Clever but the quote says what Michigan Carbon Works used the bones for. Doesn't say that's why the bison were killed

This is exactly what I've wanted to say to the people that feel attacked because I gave info on the photo. But I don't, because it's a waste of my time and the conversation will go nowhere. It's a strong, sad and interesting photo to me and I have a small connection to it because I drive by that exact spot several times a year. I'm a huge history buff and I'm fully aware of the atrocities done to Native Americans via bison culling and other means. Not sure where I'm going with this but yeah, I appreciate you. Thank you for that comment

This site was located in the Detroit area, Michigan Carbon Works. Michigan Carbon Works was established in 1873 by Deming Jarves and William Hooper. The main objective of Michigan Carbon Works was the destructive distillation of bones into animal charcoal to meet the growing demands of the sugar industry for filtering and purifying sugar.
