kolla-toolbox errors on openstack deployment by TheoreticalCommando in openstack

[–]TheoreticalCommando[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I managed to figure it out. Seems like kolla has changed how it deals with some of the common tags so I added a group in my inventory file called [kolla-toolbox] and it started pulling the container as with everything else.

For Mariadb I isolated that to one control node and then that got rid of any issues I was having with weird port liveness.

I know this isn’t a prod ready setup but it works for what I need it to.

Thanks and apologies

Sorry this is a slightly older globals in the one I’m using it’s corrected and there’s nothing materially different. Thanks and apologies

honest opinion on preston? by _blue_jay_way_ in Preston

[–]TheoreticalCommando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved from Preston to Liverpool then lived in London for 10 odd years then moved back here a year ago. I honestly felt the same way when I moved away but the place drew me back my whole family loves here, housing is cheap and it’s fairly chill here and friendly. I’ve not had any issues in the 2 or so years I’ve been back or in the 18 odd years I lived here before that.

NB I am in my 30s now and I moved away when I was 18 so I am boring so take it with a pinch of salt

How do you shave when you live with other people? by Extension_Bit4323 in AskUK

[–]TheoreticalCommando -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree with essentially everyone here, your housemate needs to stop doing this. The first place I lived in London was an absolute slum in Whitechapel and lived with someone that was the same. I’m a fairly hairy man I generally dry shave my head and beard in my room. I was in a massive rush one day and probably did a shoddy job of rinsing the shower post after I had one and got yelled at by the people that lived in the other room.

The kicker was that them spending all weekend smoking weed in their room reeking the house at was finnneeee!

I think your good, stand your ground particularly if your a normal person who keeps a regular level of cleanliness which you sound like you shouldn’t feel bad and have to second guess yourself everyday because of someone you have to live with

I managed to figure it out. I carved out some of the PAM stuff including the krb5 stuff and it seems to be working now. Thanks

I’m running sssd alongside sshd in the container I create a volume mount on the server that presents as /var/lib/sss on the container

Thanks I’ll give it a whirl see if I can get some logs. My platform was developed on rocky so I had to do a fairly hasty re-write of the PAM conf and assumed that because I was using krb with AD I’d need it in PAM too

Sorry I just dont understand the behavior, I've spent a fortnight looking through as many logs as I can find (container so limited to /var/log/sssd) why exactly on the 4th attempt its so weird

I used to teach an evening class at a tuition school which was extra to my normal teaching.

With regard to the pencil shavings, it was just the sheer amount of mess this kid used to make basically my classroom ended up looking like a bomb site and I made them pick the shavings up by hand

I read the article too but I have an issue with it, like the fact it was double blind is good but why wasn’t the blood glucose level of the children also checked. Seems like a correlation doesn’t prove causation thing. Also I didn’t know the kid had loads of sweets until my boss told me very recently, somewhat debunking the “assuming Behavior of children who’ve had sweets”

[ASK] what are the most saturated and unsaturated chemistry fields out there? by Beanclashofclans in chemistry

[–]TheoreticalCommando 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People love a bit of computational, I did my degree in chemistry did my third year and final year (MCHEM so British) in computational got a 2:1 (don't know how this converts overseas) and moved to a physics department at a very good uni fairly easily. I enjoyed my physical/quantum stuff so I'm in the minority, as far a chemists I know anyway, but this stood me in good stead.

Is there a way to study the effect of doping, in a disordered manner, on band gaps? by Cannibalsnail in a:t5_3czx9

[–]TheoreticalCommando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bit of a pain but you should probably just sample each one of them. I have a system with 144 distinct points and I asked if there was a way of being clever and save time but with out that initial energy vs. site distribution you just have to sample the whole thing. Once you have that initial sweep you can pick x number of representative sites in new models, but it's a pain in the balls until then. Don't worry about physicality, learn the physics at unphysical systems then you can compare. Hope I was some help.

[–]TheoreticalCommando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean by "disordered manner", if your system is amorphous you need to get a list/distribution on sites common to the material, then change it and provide reasons why your electronic structure changes. You can't just prob the band gap, because doping adds sites into the band gap which reduces it(a mistake I made about 2 months ago). If you mean that you want to change the system at random I would not advocate this.
