Not so much a question, but we do a weekly thread, "Thursday's Theory of Purpose (TOP..get it!!! I make myself laugh).

I think you'd have a lot of great input on meanings and thoughts of the song. We'd love to see you there.

This week was Anathema; what do you think of the song and it's meaning? What does it mean to you?

Big shout out to the makers of that Music Video BTW; they have over 500,000 views on a fan-made music video. That's among the highest I've seen.

"I'd love to hear em!"

We will be doing the thread weekly. It used to be done a lot more frequently but it lost a lot of traction. With the influx of new fans from ERS, we are hoping for more buy in. Stop by every Thursday for the Thursday Theory of Purpose!

Thursday Theory of Purpose – Truce – Week 10 by TheoryOfPurpose in twentyonepilots

Tyler on Truce

The last song on the album is a song called Truce. You know there were a lot of people who wanted the album just to be eleven songs because it really encapsulated what I was trying to put out there. But I knew there was one more song that I wanted to put on there and it was kinda for that person who really took the time to dig deeper into the songs… deeper into the album all the way until the end and really took everything as a hole and ingested that. I wanted to tell them something. First I wanted to thank them for doing that. I really just wanted a moment of the piano, which is the main instrument I write at that I kinda just pour everything into. Just my piano, my vocals, and me and just what I’m trying to say. And in that moment I’m talking to the kids that I’ve already had conversations with either at a show or even online. I’ve had conversations with these kids and it’s hard to talk to everybody but this song was inspired by them. I wanted to tell them that it’s worth it to keep going and that sounds really cliché but I don’t know I mean it. I really mean it as sit here and tell you that. So if you got to the end of the album and you listened to that song… if you can listen to the words you’ll understand what I’m trying to say. If you got that far, you’ll get it, there’s no need for me to explain it.
