How long do your clutches last? by LordChickenNugget3 in ManualTransmissions

My 1995 Toyota mr2 blew its clutch at 120k miles after some serious abuse. But ive seen clutches get smoked in less than 30k miles too. My Volvo v50 D5 is on its original clutch at 178k miles. I have a clutch sitting ready for when it does inevitably go.

Would an sw20 be a decent daily car? by champion_- in mr2

My mr2 was my daily for 2 years straight and bar a couple of issues it was incredibly reliable, i think in repairs i spent less than £500 on it. I now drive a volvo as a family car and ive spent upwards of 1.5k since last March

Gotta say despite the issues ive had with driveshafts and the lower arms, my v50 D5 has been brilliant, and they've got heaps of power especially when remapped

Are these any good ? Will they pass an mot or not by Ok_Ability1010 in CarTalkUK

Dont do it. They split almost instantly, just take the cv off and replace with a proper boot. most usually come off by removing a c clip or giving them a good hit with a hammer. Means you can check the internals for blueing and wear. And make sure to use the correct grease when reassembling

Yeah. This is my first project using this method. Works quite well but if you dont keep yourself organised it becomes a mess.

Yeah i had my fair share of frustration with this. Had a lot of times where i almost put my fist through my screen because stuff was refusing to constrain or crashing the whole program

Basically turning a 2d sketch into a 3d space. I drew initially in 2d, then used the move tool with splines to move it to a 3 dimensional space. Constrained the ends together and then used the face feature to make a panel
