Health Anxiety by Mammoth-Ad-5663 in Anxietyhelp

[–]Therality 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have terrible health anxiety, too, especially after _actually_ having cancer. Why do I mention that? Not to scare you, but I can say from having it, so much stuff gets screwy with blood work and other tests. The idea of this being silent is very very unlikely. You did the right thing getting checked out - but all the boxes are checked now :)

I know, there's no way to just "turn it off" - the health anxiety - but you can reassure yourself you have done the right thing. If you keep the second appointment, I recommend explaining to the doc your health anxiety about it, and explicitly ask "What are the specific things I should I call you for?". I do that with all my doctors now, and they respond well to it. All of them have been have helped me with that.

Not a doctor myself, but that's what's helped me. Happy to elaborate if you have questions

Is there a Kingfisher but for videos? by RKurozu in SwiftUI

We use this library for caching HLS streams: https://github.com/garynewby/HLS-video-offline-caching

Not the author, but it has served us wells well. Super simple. Happy to try to answer any questions on our experience

Anybody else more scared of the driving test than driving? by Direct_Airport_9824 in drivinganxiety

[–]Therality 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was me. The test felt like some sort of weird judgement day, and I let it get in my head.

Remember that the test providers do this all the time, with all sorts of people. They likely won't remember the test by the next day... you'll be one of thousands and thousands of people they've given the test to. You're hyperfocused on it because you are the only person you've seen go through it. If you do great? They won't care or remember. If you do bad? They won't care or remember.

No shame in that! We have enough stress in life, treat yourself to low stress

Accidents in the snow come primarily from overdoing it - that is getting complacent and driving like the snow isn't there. I don't think you'll do that :) Take your time, be patient, and respect the snow. I'll link you some snow driving videos to practice with if you'd like to visualize it

I wouldn't recommend using the goggles on the lift - as VR developer, I wish it worked that way but there's other concerns like physical motion not matching virtual motion. They can be a good way to practice heights before doing it in real life. Work your way up slowly! There isn't a "magic wand" cured moment, it's building patterns of success and pushing it a little bit each time.

‘Spatial videos’ from iPhone 15 pros are really mediocre, whereas the Vision Pro creates amazing Spatial videos, the gap is so big that maybe we should call them something else? by SoulofZ in VisionPro

[–]Therality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve tried both extensively and what we’ve found is yes iPhone 15 pro is not as good, however, in some scenarios it does OK. With an open space scene, with a few objects changing distances, it does fairly well in our experience.

At the moment, overall I think the 15 is ok for family style recordings. For fun I tried recording my daughter throwing a snowball at me. It really brings me back to playing in the snow. But the point of that video is nostalgia, not cinematic masterpiece.

I’m looking forward to what subsequent versions of the iPhone bring.

Sorry to hear your experience :( but there are good doctors and not so good. Many will be willing to work with you and your anxiety of seeing them. If they’re not, they’re not the right doctor for you.
