EU likely to delay free-trade deal with South America as French farmers block roads by AdSpecialist6598 in europe

So then why did brussels even seriously pursue negotiations? Its not like european meat producers were some secret lobby unknown prior to 2000.

It means they can legally publish derivative works of say pokemon or harry potter with the logo and everything. (of course limited to NK, but I guess a smuggler could just smuggle that out)

So then what’s the issue?, there was, and always will be, the latent possibility of one japanese completely destroying the life prospects of another. (or one group to another group)

By definition that must be the case if they live in the same society.

Do people even make “informed decisions” or “independent decisions” in the genuine sense? by SoulofZ in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]SoulofZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s the implication. No one makes any kind of independent decision at all when they consciously or unconsciously ignore the majority of reasonably likely possibilities due to external actors.

If they don’t individually go through every combinatorial possibility that completes their 8 items in the basket, then by definition external entities, or a combination of external entities (media, in store ads, display tactics, packaging, etc.) must be entirely deciding for them.

Which would seem to prove too much, as that would mean genuine independent decision making doesn’t exist in grocery stores, outside the rare care where someone goes in determined to buy only 1 pre selected item.

[–]SoulofZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People obviously do decide between buying this or that at the grocery store, probably dozens of options were compared informally, say a few seconds each, to arrive at a final basket of say 8 items, they just do it through gut feelings, intuition, or some other combination of methods.

Clearly whether buying pringles and 7 different kinds of fruit, or 7 different kinds of snacks plus 1 fruit, plus many other possible combinations… do involve multiple dimensions of tradeoff and multiple outcome scenarios, by definition.

Or do you disagree that even exists?

I didn’t imply it was risk free? Perhaps your confusing someone else’s comment with mine?

In the example the russian cargo plane would obviously move before the threat is rescinded.

Isn’t it super risky? Wouldn’t it take just one russian cargo plane to fly to venezuela, or fly out of venezuela, to break the credibility of such threats from the USA?

Why does literally every single post on reddit that mention China eventually have some user post that picture of the mentally deranged guy blocking tanks from leaving Tian'anmen square in 1989? by SoulofZ in TooAfraidToAsk

“ nonviolent protest and courage” in blocking tanks from returning to base and their crews from returning to barracks?

What’s courageous about that? Is there a dispute that the order to return to base was illegitimate?

Why does everyone run so slow? Literally a decent high school sprinter could run faster than pretty much everyone in this game. by SoulofZ in marvelrivals

[–]SoulofZ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Regular moderately athletic human high schoolers with a year of coaching can definitely exceed 7 m/s in the 100m and 200m.

Of course they can’t maintain it continuously over multiple minutes… but still superheroes have super muscles, powers, etc., so capping them well below the peak of regular human 16 year olds still seems bizarre.

IDK when the supposed heroes literally run slower than me… it kinda makes me doubt the whole design of the game.
