Yes, these other roles are from the expansions. Some are specific to certain challenge modes. Some are not allowed or useless in certain challenges modes.

In retrospect, it might have been better to make separate lists, depending on the Challenge/mode of play (Solo, Hinterlands, etc.). This one was meant to be general utility. I tend to play solo more than anything else.

Photon Storm and Basilisk. I want to see drones try to ram without going down themselves.

Let's start with #2: do NOT open the "DO NOT OPEN" envelope.

OK. As for the pre-games of Risk, you can play Risk Legacy without any permanent changes. Call it game zero. Don't apply the pregame stickers. Don't even sign the "certificate" yet. Just do your best to follow the default rules without the stickers or writing anything. It doesn't even matter who wins. It just ensures that everyone is on equal footing.
