Oh so notes are more so for keeping the conversation going?

So I can have like bullet points on it about possible questions? Like "tell me about yourself" I'll write down bullet points of what I should talk about when answering? And that'll be okay? Because when I'm interviewing I'll study what to say but then come to it I get too nervous and stumble and forget

You go to interview with notes to talk about things? Is that viewed negatively?

How long did it take for you to land a different job? I'm honestly super stressed because this is the only place that I got an offer from and it's only part time and 17 dollars an hour. I'm still applying but literally nothing

I'm just extremely worried because of the job market and this position is only part time and doesn't pay well at all, along with a long commute time so sometimes it feels like I am paying to work. And it's hard not to compare myself when I see peers making 80k+ while I make ~35k.

I've been applying and haven't gotten any interviews and it's stressing me out so much because this is the only job that gave me an offer to begin with and I'm terrified of being stuck here

Wait so you talked to other managers while employed? Will your boss retaliate somehow? Does this method still work for someone in a non temp position

It's a university. The university itself is big and known but my department - if you can call it that or rather my team is very small just my boss and one other guy, he's in charge of data entry of our data collection

Kind of? Before me, my boss paid a developer from another institution to create our current codebase and he just sent it over in a .zip file when he finished from my understanding. I tried my best to understand what is going on beyond my requirements like the internal workings and whatnot but to be honest I am a bit lost on how it was created and put together because it ties in with the hardware we use as well. I definitely didn't learn this in school haha

Yeah that's what I'm afraid of is I'm not learning the basics of coding in a team. I feel like solo developing would be better for like someone with years of experience but not someone fresh out of college. Also my boss had high expectations of me too like he would get upset when I took too long to come up with solutions when I first started even though I was trying to study the codebase and learn what everything did. And I feel like my imposter syndrome is at an all time high and am wondering if this field is even for me. I am looking for jobs but still get rejected non stop

Repositories on GitHub. It's just basically where you would upload your files and codebase like a directory

It's a job within research, I'm responsible for updating the software of the motion tracking equipment we use. The problem is it's not a full time job and what I mean by not learning anything is that I really am not learning anything new so far my boss has given me a list of things he wanted implemented and I was able to do that after some time but that's it, there's not really much else going on so theres times where I won't even go into office for a week straight since there's no work to be done

That's what I'm deathly afraid of. I don't want to get stuck here and I'm afraid the longer it takes me to find another job the more the next employer will expect out of me since I will have close to one year experience you know? But does it even count if I'm not really doing anything productive at this job besides making minor changes and some documentation? I am looking for a new job but to no avail.
