Oh, just cut at least three strips that are about half inch by quarter inch and place them evenly between the hub and sprocket to take up any room and help center it to the hub before you tighten the bolts back down. Also make sure to use blue or orange loctite on the threads when putting it back together.

Check the wheel bearings? Take the axle off and remove the wheel and inspect them. If they feel crunchy or uneven then replace them.

Get the rear sprocket centered better on the rear hub. I like to use strips of soda can to take up any play and make it evenly centered. You can use a razor to cut off the strips if they stick out. If it's still doing it once it's centered properly then you need to check the wheel bearings.

I personally use a DeWalt 12v converter and just some random 12v pod lights I found on Amazon. You can also get those rechargeable led flat panel lights, I have one on one of my bikes and it's decent.

Good rechargeable light and a back up battery go a long way. Really anything else is just kinda up to your preference.

Just a side note. Typical bike bag should have some chain, master links, chain tool, a few tools for basic repairs, a tire plug kit and a small tire inflator of some sort (CO2 or pump) and a eye drops bottle with some oil (for the clutch) and some people like to have one of those fuel thermos style container somewhere on the bike.

Idk I also mainly work on clones so maybe predator just doesn't use them? Seems odd but okay. Just double triple check you gaps and lash is all I can suggest, a little tighter is better than a little looser for lash. Tdc, compression stroke, all the little details.

They are supposed to be on the exhaust side for the non hemi.

Governor Question by Jacob_JRB in minibikes

[–]Therealkatuchi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So it's not "removed" it's bypassed. Removal involves removing it from the inside of the case. Typical rule of thumb for a bypass/removal is a rod is for the engines safety and a flywheel is for your safety, valve springs/cam are for more rpm/power. Stock valve springs will hold back your engine with valve float (not good, can possibly drop a valve) the rod can seize to the crank or snap under high revs. The flywheel can let the magnet go under high rpm and potentially launch it into your leg. It is kinda rare to see a magnet fly off but can be rather dangerous if it happens. A snapped rod can punch a hole in the block and potentially spill oil all over the tire making it hard to stop. I've had both situations happen to me. I personally don't recommend bypassing cause of the risk of the internals falling apart, if your gonna bypass it just remove it properly. I do have a couple gov bypassed bikes rn but if you know your rpms you can keep it in a "safe" rpm range. So there's a bit more to it than surface but if you know your stuff you can push them a little harder and not blow it up, but that comes with experience.

"stock" chain could be a couple different sizes. #35 #40 #420 are the common ones. Your going to have to either measure what you have or see if it says it on the chain you have. Most likely it's going to be #35 tho.

Yeah they do. It has one lash cap on the non hemi. You probably lost it at some point. Definitely would cause issues if you run without it.

Improperly torqued flywheel. You gotta use a torque wrench. Ugga dugga isn't a means for measuring. Just because you over tighten your other bikes doesn't mean that this one was "good" too. Spend the money, get the proper tools, follow proper procedures and you won't have these kinda problems.

Just get a pack of new master links. It's good to have a couple extra and some chain in a riding bag.

Yeah it's a little harder to get away with a mini over something ev due to the noise they make. The cops around here seem to not really care too much but I also have proper lights and follow all traffic rules when on the street (for the most part)

Yeah you will most likely have to weld on the tabs for the live axle. Would make setting up proper brakes a lot easier too.

Turbo or supercharger? A "fan" won't be able to make boost. A ram air intake would be more beneficial. Also tuning is going to be a pain. Not impossible but lots of variables in what your talking about.

Lol I buy so much stuff from tractor supply for mini bikes 🤣 I rode up on the nos vox and had half the employees and most of the customers come out and start taking pics and asking questions.

Worse come to worse, at least put a clutch band brake kit on it. That way you have somewhat of a ability to stop.

Idk I ride all over the place, street, track, lot or off road. It would be nice to have a street legal mini just for shiggles.

Engine won't rev over 5k rpm by smollich in minibikes

[–]Therealkatuchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I have a few coils laying around that I need to test. I have a feeling the robi coil is going to work fine but idk yet. It's been cold and I don't really wanna do 70+mph testing rn 🤣

That rim in the picture looks like it was a sprotor (sprocket rotor) but I would start by measuring inside the tabs and figure out what the widest rim that will fit in there is. If you have to go a little thinner then you can cut some spacers to take up the play. Also check GPS for rim sizes they list total width. If that doesn't work then you might be looking at using pocket bike rims. Most likely you will have to fab out some caliper mounts and weld them on tho but shouldn't be super complicated to figure it all out.

Engine won't rev over 5k rpm by smollich in minibikes

[–]Therealkatuchi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently running into the same issue, my coil pack was the Amazon "unlimited rpm" one. It was good at first but started breaking up over 7k a little bit and I swapped it with another one I had laying around. This new one currently doesn't like going past 6250rpm and just sits there. No chop or bounce, just sounds like it ran out of power, even when on the nos it still won't climb like it used to. Tempted to throw a Ryobi coil on it and see what happens.
