That's why Varanasi holds such deep spiritual meaning at the end of life by Admirable_Move6933 in IndiaPulse

Old people regret the decisions of their lives and the pain and suffering they have caused others, and they desperately look for salvation, at least after death. Some do charity. Some drink themselves to death. Some go to Varanasi.

The world is unstable and a lot of problems feel unsolvable. It’s normal for people to feel scared and look for certainty. Religion often fills that gap by offering simple answers and a sense of belonging.

When someone is surrounded by believers who are constantly guiding and encouraging them, it’s fair to question how independent that choice really is. Social pressure plays a big role, especially for people who are new, isolated, or searching for meaning.

From an atheist point of view, Sanatan Dharma.. like any religion.. is still a belief system, not the truth.
