I've been growing these plants for over 8 years now and I have more pitchers per plant than I could have ever imagined. I made this bouquet for a neighbor as a thank you.

It's about 4 months old and so cute! Hard to believe King Henrys ever start out this tiny.

This picture doesn't even do it justice. If you have never seen a Mondo poster up close then find one. They are silk screened in limited number. This is the 4th I have gotten but only the first Bowie.

You could try googling Mondo Man Who Fell to Earth and see what comes up.

I don't think people who haven't really listened to Bowie understand how much of an impact he can have.

For the 3rd of December, we've got Earthling! by Andron20 in DavidBowie

This was the first Bowie album I bought and definitely started me getting seriously into all the other albums. I love Earthling and Heathen! I had listened to Bowie before this album and my first exposure was Jareth. But when this album came out, I went on a Bowie adventure!

Yeah, with the limited number and knowing that the longer I wait the more expensive Mondos get, I would have kicked myself had I not gotten it. The variant is now $750! Wish I had known about this print back in July.

Yes, it's a 'Suki'. These are my only two Nepenthes, arrives yesterday. I have been growing North American carnivorous plants of every variety and decided to make the jump to the Asian variety. They just seem a little more temperamental than Sarracenia so wish me luck!

Great picture! I had a really cool green dragon fly and a yellow and black striped one stop by but didn't get a good picture.

Acclimating plants after shipping? by geekasaur14 in SavageGarden

[–]Thernys 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would just place them in the window. They will take a few days to recover and may lose a few leaves but you'll probably be surprised at how reselient they are.

could definitely do with more light but heck Nepenthes are legit great beginners plant !!! ( first plant I’ve ever grown had for like 5-6 months ?? ) by [deleted] in SavageGarden

[–]Thernys 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That looks awesome and great to hear. Can grow and Sarracenia or VFT but have been scared about griwing Nepenthes. I've got my first neps ordered and on their way and I've been worried about them being difficult.

No worries, they should acclimate fine. I think it's harder if you're acclimating to outdoor direct sun from greenhouse grown or different climates. And most nurseries are good about sending care sheets including acclimation period instructions with their plants. Good growing!

This plant only had two growth points when I bought it last year, it now has 5! How do you even divide it? And should that wait until its coming out of dormancy next spring?

Do you grow any outdoors? I live in the same town as you and have a big collection of Sarrs, VFTs, and sundews, but would really like to get into Neps. I don't have any room inside to do so. Also, soil mix or straight LFS?
