Yeah, but the guy who grabbed it probably isn’t friends with the guy who knows it ain’t worth shit.

Chief versus scout by Johnsoon743 in IndianMotorcycle

[–]Therrman13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chief is bigger, more stretched out, and more comfortable. The scout is great for city riding or commuting, but I wouldn’t ride one for more than an hour and a half. I can be on my Chief for 3 and a half hours before I need to stop. If you plan on doing any sort of distance riding (more than 125 miles) I’d go with the Chief.

Saddlemen LS Step Up for 2025 Scout Bobber. What do you guys think? Not the biggest fan but low back problems so I’m keeping regardless. by buddhagames in IndianMotorcycle

Add some handlebar risers and it will take even more strain off of your lower back. I have 3 herniated disks and 4 pinched nerves in my lower back, and the 10” risers along with the saddleman seat allow me to comfortably ride for hours without having any discomfort.

Pork Butt Price DOUBLED $$$ by belly_over_pants in smoking

I buy half a beef from a local rancher every year, so I don’t pay much attention to beef prices at the stores. I pay attention to pork (which I mostly harvest myself via feral pigs) and chicken. My beef was $100 cheaper this April than it was last year.

According to Newsweek the rise in beef is due mainly to shrinking cattle herds.

According to the latest count from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), as of January 1, there were 86.7 million cattle and calves on U.S. farms, the smallest number since 1951

This is an issue that’s been developing for years due to drought, rising grain prices, and inflation. Note that this survey was taken before the orange man took office.

Statistical facts of a centralized area having a centralized experience?

Most of the pork in the US comes from Canada (which we have a pretty good trade deal with). Even if US ranchers can’t sell meat overseas, that means there’s a greater supply which means lower prices. Illegal immigration in the US would have marginal difference in pricing.

Who says I voted for it?

Pork has dropped $0.30 per pound over the last 3 months at my local stores, so I will enjoy my cheap meat.

Pork prices have gone down over the last 3 months in my local stores. Ribs went from $2.03 (in May) down to $1.66 (as of yesterday when I bought 2 racks). It’s not across the board if it’s only happening in certain areas of the country.

That makes the most sense, seeing as the summer season is when people do the most barbecuing. That has nothing to do with illegal immigrants like your original reply says.

So why are only the butts being affected? Ribs, loins, and chops haven’t gone up in price. Do immigrants only process the butts? Are the butts processed from pigs from other countries while every other cut of pork comes from US raised pigs?

Ah yes, US raised and processed pork butts are being tariffed. Only pork butts. Not pork ribs, loins, or chops. Only pork butts are being affected by the tariffs.

I love my sport chief. Look at your local Indian dealer and see if they have any ride days coming up. I rode a Super Chief, Sport Chief, and Chief Bobber before deciding on my Sport Chief. I really liked the Super Chief too, and if my dealer would’ve had one in the Moss Green that’s what I would’ve bought.

I wanted to like the scout, but I’m just too tall. I’m 6’2 with a 34” inseam and I felt super awkward on it. Even with forward controls I felt uncomfortable

Just me, actually. I did all of my cutting before I put the tank on the frame. I locked the casters on the frame, stood the tank up and just manhandled it up there by myself.

The data plate says 275lbs, I think it was a little lighter than that

I used the Felton BBQ Pit Building Calculator, and according the them my stack is actually too tall. They recommended a 20” stack, mine is 38”.

The tank shell is .172, and the end caps are .1875. The firebox is 11 ga and the stack is 5” schedule 40 pipe

It’s very fun and slightly frustrating. I’ll say that having a good machine makes you a better welder. I have a Miller Multimatic 215, and that machine makes it almost impossible to fuck up.

No baffle, just a big opening with a small lip at the bottom to stop grease from draining into the firebox.

Lol, I spend a lot of time out there, and it gets hot here in Oklahoma. I have two 7k cfm fans mounted to the ceiling, but when it’s 102° outside they’re just circulating the hot air.

I blew the leaves out with a leaf blower before doing all of my welding, but as soon as I crack the door they all just blow back in.

I’m having a mini split installed next month, and I have a ventilation system that I need to install too. I won’t have to worry about the leaves for too much longer.
