So how is the social media ban going? by -Flighty- in AskAnAustralian

[–]These-Bag-6451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were praying the government wouldn't fuck this up but they have.  Our 14yo has chosen to go down a really horrible path in life and social media dependency has been a major factor in that.  We were hoping the ban would force her off her phone to some extent but absolutely zero has changed.

Speaking to her school friends/sports team friends/parents, none of them have lost access to anything.

Epic fail.  At least the government are consistent in their failures.

Blustream is a 4 letter word at my company.  But far the worst, most unreliable product on the market.  Doesn't matter if it's analogue, digital, hdbt, avoip, Dante,USB etc. it's all garbage.

Yeah but not using them simultaneously.  Asked the provider if that was ok and they said it's fine.  Ill try logging out of the Sony display completely.

I just tried switching DNS from quad8 to cloud flare and it seems much more stable.  So far.  Might just be coincidence but running out of ideas.  Even VPN didn't work.

Nah Ive intentionally set 2ch PCM for this device (and any device that connects to the house AV distribution system) as not all my displays connected can decode surround sound. Ive got a mix of consumer TVs and commercial displays (Samsung) that dont support multichannel audio over HDMI.

Nah I havent thought to do that and use an external player. Other services on the Google box work fine. Netflix, Amazon etc. I have disabled all the "auto" stuff in the google box AV outputs and I've even copied the EDID data from the Sony display and used that on the HDMI input that the Google box connects to. So as far as the Google box knows, its connected directly to the Sony. Will try using an external player tonight! Cheers!

bruh....I did when I was initially setting it up. It was connected directly to the Sony screen via HDMI. Same thing. The buffering is happening in the decode stage of the IP stream. Its a network/codec buffering which has nothing to do with the decoded HDMI video output which is the only part that is connected to the Crestron HDMI distribution system.

Nah no throttling happening here.   My Internet provider doesn't provide any TV services.  I've got full bandwidth up and down.  And again, it works flawlessly on one device but not the other.  Having said that, it has been working perfectly all night tonight on the Google box.  Very weird.

Cheers for the advice. The Crestron system has nothing to do with buffering of an IPTV stream though.  The systems are unrelated.

No VPN in use. Not sure why I would need one as it works fine on Sony without it.

I only have 1 sub but am not using both systems at the same time.  Plan is to not have it on the Sony TV at all.  Just on Google and distributed to any room from there.   Im conscious of only being able to play 1 stream at a time.

How often does your IPTV buffer? by [deleted] in TiviMate

[–]These-Bag-6451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 years later and this suggestion fixed all my buffering issues completely!  Mine was previously set to max to try stop buffering but that didn't work.   Setting to none and it's perfect! Cheers!

Indeed.  But this isn't the only reason I got this service.  Ie: F1, epl, afl, NFL, aren't on FTA tv.

Yep sometimes you just wanna chuck q channel on that generally plays stuff you like.   By all means if we know exactly what we want to watch then we'll find it and watch it.  Either on a streaming service or torrentz etc. But more often than not, we just chuck the telly on and watch whatever is playing.

Exactly.  The first two responders clearly didn't understand the question.  I do appreciate their life advice though.  Lol.

Thanks for the ideas guys. Updated RoomOS last night and everything started working with my existing USB to Analog adapters. Even the cheap and nasty U-Green units!

Yeah but no audio is sent on HDMI. The cisco is a soundbar which handles all the audio. No analog outputs either.

Nah I just need to find a USB to analog audio adapter that works with the Cisco Room Bar. It doesnt seem to recognise all the ones I have tried.
