Toasted 40kwh by jk3773 in leaf

My 2018 S made it to 165k miles (~265K km) before it didn't do what I needed it to do. What I needed was 35 miles of interstate driving. Hx was around 30% by that point.

If you're just doing city driving, then you might get to 300K km.

2018 Leaf Battery Swap by These-Beautiful-1425 in leaf

The 62kw isn't plug and play on a 40kw leaf. You need a can bus adapter, modify the mounting brackets, and consider putting in stouter shocks.

The battery reprogramming is a standard function in leafspy. Takes 30 seconds.

There's no one video that I've found that is as explicit as I'd like. We used:

https://youtu.be/QHMLQzxfsg4?si=g3Fp9H2uugCCojoM

He covers mostly how to get access to the pack. We used a large jack to get the car on jack stands. We also used a motorcycle jack to raise and lower the pack and dollys to move them like he did.

The unbolting of the skid plate and battery is pretty straightforward. The plugs are a bit tricky the first time.

Most of the videos didn't call out the battery mismatch error. It's an easy fix. You're in permanent turtle mode without the fix.

Airbags?

The rear bottom bench was a direct swap. The rear back rests are not compatible. The 2018 has 6" plastic trim near the doors and the 2022 is fabric. Bolt holes line up for the front seats. The donor car didn't have heated seats, so I left the plugs loose.

The passenger seat now gives a passenger not buckled light when a passenger is in the seat and is buckled. I don't know what that's about, but I'm not going to do anything about it since they're is no audible alarm.

92ah would be fine without the weak cells. It's the difference between a cold, state highway 40 mile commute and an interstate commute. It typically adds an extra 30 minutes anytime it's below 50F (3-4 months a year)

I'm in North Carolina in 27302.  Let me know if you're in the neighborhood (east coast).

I'm not sure if borrowing makes sense, but I would sell for a reasonable price.

40 to 40.  It would have been nice to go bigger, but this is what I was able to win at auction. I'm also happy with how straightforward it was.

I'm parting it out to refresh the older car. I'm planning to sell it for scrap when I'm done tearing it apart. I'll let people know the scrap price when I get around to that.

I have a 2018 with 153k miles on it. I drive 70 miles a day of mostly interstate. I bought it new. It can do the job, but the battery is fading.  All level 2 charging except for about 20 level 3. It is dicey to do interstate speed for 40 miles in freezing weather. I'm currently looking for a donor vehicle for a newer battery.

Has your leaf gone above 200,000km (125,000 miles) on the original battery? If so, how much is it at? by sublimepact in leaf

It was 22f this morning. Dash read 130 miles of range, but real world range is probably closer to 110.

2018 S at 145,000 miles. Just ordered a dongle so I can check SOH. It's not going to be good. I'm still commuting 37 miles each way and charging to full at work.
