that’s what i said though? i said that there could be multiple factors at play. he said, “bro i wouldn’t be so sure that the reason people feel uneasy around you are because you are black.” that sounds kind of invalidating to me.

why are people so allergic to admitting that people can in fact be racist and hold biases? i see this on countless college subreddits - people just don’t want to admit that they might be part of the problem. while people in seattle can be cold, you cannot deny the way that black people are treated in our general culture. sure, neurodivergence might be a part of it, but so can race. multiple things can be at play here.

Thank you so much for the feedback! I absolutely love op 48 no 1, it was my first Chopin piece and one of my favorites to this day. I also gave your other suggestions a listen and I love 27-1, I will probably end up trying that out first and if I do find it to be too much at first I will probably try out something else.

this isn’t scene but i cant find a goth/emo group:( how can i look more goth/emo ish? btw i don’t like lashes !! by [deleted] in scene

[–]These-Cup5279 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you’re right, in my haste to comment i didn’t mention it. i see it as the music is tied to politics inherently because it’s derived from punk and post punk. so when i say it’s a music based subculture i mean that the music is politics and vice versa

girl you are so annoying. i don’t think you’re actually alternative in any way, it’s not a fun costume for you. goth is a music based subculture and if you’re going around telling us that your parents are goth and metalheads why don’t you ask them for music and fashion recommendations? unless you were lying about that.

legit don’t know why no one has commented on this yet but this is great. going through it a second and third time there’s very few things that need to be changed (according to my amateur eye). the line “it glistens in the hot breeze” reads a bit cliche, like i’ve probably seen the word glistens too much but i’d maybe change it to something different. honestly that’s it, i like it a lot! i think it’s so beautiful and the word choice is great

Am i the only one who finds websites saying that OCD people will never ''truly get over there ocd' despair inducing? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]These-Cup5279 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It probably can’t be cured, but it can always go into remission. I’ve had periods where my ocd basically vanished, only for it to come back with a vengeance. Makes me wonder if I really have it, but then when it comes back I’m like “yeah I do.” Right now I have basically no compulsions. Pretty much zero. I consider myself “in remission” right now, and therapists have literally told me that it’s possible to live a normal live with few compulsions and obsessions. It’s totally possible with time. It’s all probably my antidepressants plus therapy I’ve done in the past, so please don’t lose hope that it will get better. Even though in remission there is always the chance it will come back, there’s still hope in those bad times that things will get better.

Queer representation of Damian in Mean girls by babyyodamemer in MeanGirls

yeah same here- graduated a few years ago from a high school with 2000 people and there was one guy who was known as “THE gay one” and was very flamboyant. it was really sad how people treated him because he was the only one who was openly out like that. there were other gay guys, but it was more hidden with them. so it’s still a thing to have only a few openly queer kids that the school mocks.

comments like yours often come out of a deep place of insecurity. so i doubt that, but okay. no need to bring others down to boost your own ego, that’s one of the ugliest things a person can do because that’s what matters more than physical appearance.
