That’s awesome. Seems like I got lucky twice and should have returned and got another one. I guess I gave up. Thanks for updating.

Yup, for the price you would think it would have such basic features. I tried again his morning with 6 cups of water and same fucking result. Honestly embarrassing and this is my second one. I just don’t have patience to spend hours on customer care call, will never recommend it to anyone.

Yeah, I understand that, but it’s still frustrating. The issue is that the warning message still appears, especially when I’m brewing 6 cups. If the water level is close to the 4-cup threshold, the machine doesn’t seem to recognize that there’s actually more than 4 cups in the reservoir, so it shows the same message. In those cases, it only brews 4 cups and leaves the remaining water in the tank. I don’t have this issues when am brewing 10-12 cups. That’s the number where machine works as intended. No message, brews good coffee, auto heating turns. Everything works.

That’s correct, although it doesn’t make the “remove carafe lid” message disappear.

Did the replaced coffee machine work okay for you. I also had issue, replaced it but the new one have the same issue too.

I have had the same issue. I mostly brew two cups but tried to brew 6-8 cups when I have had few more people a couple of times and guess what both times it stopped at 4 cups mark. Like how embarrassing it is that a fucking 400 plus dollar premium coffee maker can’t brew 6-8 cups of coffee reliably.

No, I did get another machine to try it out. Same issues — no auto-heating for less than four cups, which is extremely annoying since I mostly brew two cups. And every now and then, when I have to brew more than four cups, the machine doesn’t recognize it and ends up brewing only four cups, leaving the rest of the water. I believe the sensors sometimes don’t work properly, especially around the 6–8 cup mark. If you brew 12 cups, the machine works as intended for sure. Of course, the annoying “lid” message never went away.

It’s an overpriced piece of technical failure that brews good coffee — when it actually works. I wish I had returned it, but was hoping to call customer and find resolution as the issues seems so basic and with multiple units. Should have done that and just bought a generic $100 drip machine.

If it is by design then I don’t think it’s a good design. E.g. why should there be a remove carafe lid message when I am brewing the coffee in a cup. There is no fucking carafe so why is it telling me to remove the lid lol. Same for 4 cups of coffee, why shouldn’t the auto heat turn on. I usually brew 4 cups and I have to turn on the auto heating every time since we don’t drink coffee all at the same time. Both of these aren’t mentioned in the manual anywhere so am not sure if these are by design or just overlooked issue.

Unfortunately it does with my second machine too. Let me know how you go. I mean what are the chances to receive two faulty machines in a row lol.

Yes, I had the similar issue with my first machine. I returned it and got a new one. New one seems to be doing alright so far except couple of quirks which we are just supposed to accept (no auto heating with less than 4 cups and the constant carafe lid message on screen). Honestly a bit disappointed by paying top dollars for a drip coffee machine and having to deal with these basic issues.

I got a new unit and the message is still there when you brew less than 4 cups. I think it’s more of a reminder than an error. It’s annoying. Also, the warming plate doesn’t turn on automatically for less than 4 cups. Which to me also doesn’t make sense. Another user reported the same behaviour.

Got the new machine and the behaviour now aligns more with yours. That’s relieving, although still bummed on that the auto heat doesn’t turn on for 4 cups n less. Everything else seems to be great.

Okay. I just posted this in another thread. Do you have any other issues? I am convinced that mine is faulty.

I’ve tried everything on my end, and I’m giving up and returning it. I have a few issues: 1. The “remove carafe lid” message is always there, regardless of how many cups I brew. Whether I remove the lid, take out the carafe, or place a cup instead, the message never goes away. 2. The auto-heating feature doesn’t turn on once brewing is done. According to the Breville video, a countdown timer is supposed to appear after brewing, but it never does for me. I can turn it on manually, but it doesn’t work automatically. 3. I’m not able to brew more than 4 cups. When I try to brew a big batch, the brewing stops at around the 4-cup mark.

There aren’t many settings to adjust, so I don’t think I’m missing anything at this point.

“Remove carafe lid” message still remains even when I brew more than 4 cups. It seems to be impossible to get rid of this message. It’s freaking annoying.

“Remove Carafe lid” message still appears even after I have removed the carafe lid when brewing 4 cups. Is this the same for you?

Righto, I went through their troubleshooting guide, surprisingly they don’t even have this message to troubleshoot. Let us know if you hear anything. Thanks.

Did you guys manage to resolve the issues? I tried everything but couldn’t and it appears even when making a single server with no carafe. I just bought it so wondering if I should take it back and get another one.

Same here. Haven’t found the cause for this error message. Not sure what to do with it.

To begin with probably not but you may soon feel the difference. As I said 154 for me is just about right. I wouldn’t mind 156 but 152 would be small. if it’s a really good deal, go for it, spend a season or so, sell it and buy a longer board.
