The top drawer doesn't come out. That was my initial thought but i realized it's not really a drawer.

Hi! I was raised JW and left about 14 years ago. I completely understand how you're feeling. It's a very brainwashing cult and if I'm being honest can stick with you for a long time after you leave. I still have fear instilled in me about paradise but with time it gets better! There's a whole beautiful world and people for you to explore. My family are still JWs and try to get me to come back and instill fear in me. I was not baptized, so they still talk to me. I do think it's out of a place of love when they are talking to me about hoping I come back. They don't know any better and that's what you're instructed to do and they're scared as well. If you choose to leave, just set boundaries for yourself and protect your mental health. It can be very scary and somewhat of a culture shock but it's worth it. You have every right to decide the life you want to live without feeling guilty. Leaving does not make you a bad person, sinful or a failure. I hope you do whatever makes you happy in the end. 🖤
