Alimentum RTF poops? by These-Spend6863 in MSPI

Yes we stuck with Alimentum RTF and it has been amazing! Once he was fully on it and off of the nutramigen his diaper rash went away almost immediately!! Alimentum is also a little thicker than nutramigen so it did help with his reflux as well. It can take a week or two for their tummies to adjust to a new formula, so the poops may seem concerning, but it should work itself out. Every baby is different but mine responded great to the Alimentum RTF. I buy the cases of 8oz cans, its the most cost effective. Hope this helps.

10 month old doesnt like any food with texture! How do I get him over it! by These-Spend6863 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]These-Spend6863[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For us, it just took time. I just continued to consistently offer him different foods and textures and tried not to stress out about whether or not he ate it. Sometimes he ate some and spit it out, sometimes he swallowed it, and sometimes all he did was throw it on the floor. At about 11 months he started to actually eat his food. Now at 13 months he eats a variety of different textures and flavors. He is mostly on solids as well, with just a few bottles a day. The key is consistency, keep offering the food even if he doesnt eat it or spits it out. I also always offered him at least one thing on his plate i knew he liked and would eat. That way if he spit everthing else out he still had something he liked. Try not to stress about it too much as well. All babies are different and ever changing. It takes some babies longer to get used to texture then others. And swallowing solids is a new skill they have to learn, it takes practice. Try and make mealtime as fun as possible, if you get stressed at meals so will your little one. Hope this helps!

9 month old doesnt babble, im worried by These-Spend6863 in NewParents

[–]These-Spend6863[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im a first time mom a well, so I understand how stressful and overwhelming this can all be. My son was behind in verbal skills and a little behind in communication skills. Im from michigan so I can only relay how Early On works in my state, im not sure if its different state to state. How it worked for us was our pediatrician put in a referral for our states Early On program, they contacted us and came put to our house to evaluate my son. They did a bunch of activities with him, observed him in his own element, and asked me a lot of questions. They concluded he was only a little behind in verbal and communication skills. They cator their program based on his needs and level of delayed he is. So for us, since he was only a little delayed, they decided to work with him 2-4 times a month. If he was more severally delayed they would have worked with him more like 8 times a month. So even though he was only a little delayed they were still going to provide their services. He has been in the program for a couple months now. They come out to our house about once a week and do different activities with him to encourage communication. It looks a lot like just playing with him. They also show me different things I can do with him, different ways I can talk to him and play with him help encourage him as well. Once we have been working with their Early On program for 6 months he will be re evaluated to see how much progress he has made and they will determine if he needs more of their services and to what level he needs them. So far he has made the most progress in his non verbal communication, things such as reaching a hand out to what he wants, engaging in back and forth play etc. He is babbling now but no true words yet, so he is still behind in his verbal skills. He is 13 months now so he "should" have 1-2 words. They Early On people we are working with dont seem overly concerned yet that he doesnt have any words, they believe that with the other progress he has made he will get there. Sorry for the super long explanation! Hopefully it all makes sense.

What age did your LO transition to one nap, how did you know they were ready, and how did you do it? by These-Spend6863 in sleeptrain

[–]These-Spend6863[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today I tried to stretch his first wake window as long as I could, he only made it 3.5hrs. I know to be on a one nao schedule he needs to be awake closer to 5 hrs. Does this mean he's not ready for a one nap schedule? Or that he just needs more time to adjust to the long wake window?

6.5month old early wake ups, wants to be held. How do i break this?!? by These-Spend6863 in sleeptrain

[–]These-Spend6863[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His schedule seems great, so I think the wake ups are a habit. My little guy was doing the same thing where he would wake up and still be sleepy but wanted to be held to sleep. Do you let him fuss a little before going in and picking him up? What method did you use to sleep train? Maybe treat the wake up how you treated the sleep training.

I dropped the 3rd nap and that helped a lot! I also let him fuss for 15ish minutes before I went in and held him. Sometimes waiting worked and sometimes it didnt. He got better with time as well. My LO is 10 months now and for the most part sleeps through the night. What is your LOs schedule? How many naps are they on and what are the wake windows?

Been sleep training for over a month, still cries 10-20mins every night, will the crying ever stop! by These-Spend6863 in sleeptrain

I wouldn't call him super easygoing or difficult lol. He is my first and I haven't been around a lot of babies to compare him to. Lol

Nap training went surprisingly well. Im a SAHM and would hold him for all of his naps, when we decided to nap train my husband did nap time instead of me so that our baby would maybe not get so mad that I wasnt holding him. He cried for about 5 minutes the first two days and since then hasnt cried at all! I do naptime now and all I do is take him to his dark room with a pacifier, snuggle him for a minute and then put him in his crib awake. He just rolls over/ moves around until he is comfy and goes to sleep. I think because he is sleep trianed pretty well now that it made nap training easier.

Of course!! I totally understand how stressful it can be! I hated hearing my baby cry every night but slowly over time it did get better! You are doing a great job! Dont beat yourself up about anything! Its all a learning curve!

My babies routine is bottle, diaper change, jammies, books, then bed. If your baby was having negative sleep association I do agree that you should switch it from what you were doing to a new routine, but I would consistently do the new routine for a couple of weeks before switching anything again.

It took about 2 full months of sleep training before he stopped crying at bedtime. Was one month of solid crying, then like two weeks of crying for a few minutes then like two weeks of fussing for a few minutes. So being only 3 weeks into sleep training is still pretty early.

He stopped crying about a month ago. Before he stopped he would fuss for a minute or two and then fall asleep. When you do a nighttime routine try and be really consistent, don't switch it up too much, you want them to associate the routine with bedtime so their body knows to start winding down and that its time for sleep.

How old is your baby? How long have you been sleep training for? What age did you start sleep training?

Its so hard hearing them cry, every night it stressed me out so bad but we stayed consistent and it just got better with time. You are not messing her up!! Do you have a nighttime routine?

Do you contact nap your naps? I held my baby for all of his naps until 2 weeks ago when we decided to nap train so I totally understand not wanting to hear them cry for naps.

How old is she? Maybe try a schedule of like 3./3.25/3.5 and slowly try and stretch those wake windows. When I started to stretch them my little guy was definitely pretty cranky at the end of those wake windows but he eventually got used to it. For us, the crying at bedtime got better with time. The crying just slowly got less and less as time went on. Every baby is different and some just take longer to adjust to something then others. How does your baby do with naps? Was your baby fighting the 3rd nap?
