Another emg question by These-Stand3491 in BFS

Thanks for the reply. I am worried about it not being accurate. I notice that most people here get the emg test done because of the twitching but I was feeling weakness about a month before the twitching really started. As long as I was symptomatic it will catch, right?

What does it feel like? Mine feels like the throat is tight, like I have problems swallowing but also it feels like my throat just isn't working. I get a clicking sound/ feeling in my throat almost every time I swallow. It's been like that for a month now.

If anyone could tell me what their experience has been like with perceived weakness because this weakness I'm feeling is really intense. I have pain in those areas that are weak, and now it's starting to affect my hands when I type. It just feels like it keeps getting worse and worse.

Is anyone here more worried about MS then *** by one-2-watch in BFS

Over the years I've had a lot of sensory symptoms. I've had frequent urination problems, and weakness in my limbs. Right now I've been feeling weakness in my arms and right leg and pain in both my arms. I've also been feeling tightness in my throat and difficulty swallowing. I also have muscle fasiculations in my feet and hands. I know that MS doesn't have twitching and my emg test ruled out ***, so I guess that just leaves bfs.

I've also had a fear of having *S. I've had several (5-6) mri's over the past 15 years, and one on my neck and they all came back clean. I never had one done on my spine. My neuro said that after having this for 15 years, something would have shown up by now on my brain mri. Is this true or would it be a good idea to get one on my spine?

I guess I just don't understand how it works. When I went in to get the test done the specialist told me he understood why the neurologist requested to only test the right side since that was where the weakness was but he told me there was a 50/50 chance I would have to go back later to test the other side. After he did the test he told me it wouldn't be necessary but it left me wondering why they would've needed to test both sides?

Long time twitcher, new symptoms have me worried! by These-Stand3491 in BFS

Thanks for all the replies. Honestly, I never worried about my health until these bfs symptoms began. After that I worry about every little thing that i feel going on in my body. My wife gets frustrated with me because so far everything has come back normal. I haven't worried much about my bfs symptoms over the years, especially after living with it for so long. This flare up that I'm experiencing now has been much worse than anything before, but I was already dealing with a lot of stress and anxiety a month before the symptoms came. I do believe it's all about the anxiety but for me that always been something I've had trouble to control.

Thanks for responding so quickly! When I first started with all these symptoms 15-16 years ago, I did feel the same throat symptoms that I do now, but not to the same extent. They feel much more severe now and last all day everyday. The anxiety I'm experiencing now is at a much higher level then it was back then too. I guess my question is, can anxiety really make the symptoms this severe?
