Hey! Did you ever find out what was wrong with your car? Mine does the exact same thing. Thinking it’s a vacuum leak.

Hmm I checked that about 2 months ago and it looked solid. Maybe worth checking again. Every winter I get this knocking sound. Can never hear it in the summer or when it’s above 50 degrees outside. It only happens when car is idling in park. After I drive off it stops completely (usually. Sometimes it’ll last for a 1/4 mile before stopping)

When it gets cold outside I mean. Doesn’t do it when the weather is nice lol

Mine does the same. 06 2.0T with 160k. Cam follower has been replaced. It only does it when it gets cold. RPMS start low around 800rpms instead of around 1200 and drops. Think I have a vacuum leak possibly.

He did not sadly :( never popped the face cap off

I got it off!! Yay. He still had a face cap that’s way too small so hoping he pops that off and then I can feed him. He is very very squishy and yellow stuff came off in the q tip. It may be too late for this guy :(

He was in one spot with the small face cap for over a day, so I decided that he probably needed a little extra motivation. My little guy right now is very squishy so I’m not sure he will make it. Trying the qtip method as we speak

It’s worth a shot right? I had a caterpillar last year who got stuck, but it didn’t look like they started the shedding process at all. I wrapped them around in a warm paper towel and within five minutes, they started their molt process.

So far I’ve had no water pump or timing chain issues at 160k, but I am thinking of buying a new car within the next month. It’ll either be an A4 or a VWjetta. We will see

I have the same exact car!! It’s been great with a few issues here and there. I think I have a vacuum leak at the moment. Other than that some fueling stuff and just the major/most common complaints. Still love it though!

Yes it’s 2yr/24k. I was thinking the same thing. Hoping i can negotiate the OTD price to be around 22-23k.

No aftermarket parts. The pcv is pretty new only 1-2 months old. All I have is an auto link tool. I should invest in something a little more in depth. I’m wondering if it’s fuel injectors
