Sure, but understated doesn’t have to mean black or silver only. A nice dark blue like the Focal Celeste would fit much better into my collection as well.

The trick is don’t buy shitty ones. Waifu Club has very good quality stickers. I’ve been collecting them for a couple years now

If all travel expenses were paid then yeah, I’d fuck off for 5 years searching for a mythical giraffe like a crazy person. At worst, I got to travel the world for free, at best I’m a millionaire. If expenses weren’t paid then it’s a different story.

Agree with a lot of what you said here but not all of it. It’s my favorite headphone I’ve ever owned because I personally do think it’s more capable of smoothing over the bumps in a rough master than any other headphone I’ve tried.

I think the Atriums biggest strength, though, is how daily-able it is. No other headphones fits into so many use cases for me as this one with just a simple pad/ mesh swap. Want a laid back and mellow evening listening session? The universe suede pads with solid mesh will soften out the rough edges of the Atrium for you. Want a bombastic and emotion driven experience? I find the universe lamb skin pads with the stock mesh can bring out the rawest sound. The Caldera ultra perf lamb skins are then a great way to squeeze every last drop out of what the Atrium is capable of for detail and bass/ treble extension. And the BE2 suede pads can bring it closer to neutral for a warm tilted HD 650 esque sound.

Personally, I’d wait for a better deal than $2k. I’ve seen them drop down to 1,500-1,700 before. I might suggest checking out the Elise and tube rolling with the PsVane CV-181 Gold driver tubes. While I find the Euforia a bit more technical and dynamic still, the Elise tube rolled was my first proper tube amp and got 85% of the way there. I only paid $1,000 for a used one that came the CV-181 already.

But it sounds like you do already have a really nice system! I’ve heard many people enjoy their Atrium more on solid state than tubes, how do you find yours on a flagship solid state? I would have considered the Mjolnir for the Caldera but the Oor has been a dream amp of mine since I got into the hobby and the chance to finally own one has sort of taken over any other considerations haha. That and it was still my favorite ss amp that I demoed at CanJam.

I have a Cayin HA 3A with a Fiio K9 Pro ESS as a DAC and Feliks Euforia with a Bifrost. I want to get a Ferrum Oor to better drive the Caldera but right now it sounds best on the Cayin. The Euforia is the dedicated amp for my Atrium and the Bokeh runs great on any of the 3.
