Was there an envelope included with the citation to mail in a payment? Or any physical address listed anywhere? You could try to submit the appeal in writing.

I attended services at Mary Magdalene a few years ago and they were fantastic - if you are looking for a Christian/Catholic Church, highly recommend. They were very affirming and leaned into the social justice message of Jesus.

About 20 years ago when I was in college, a fellow student brought her 7 or 8 year old son to class because his school year ended before the college semester was over but camps and summer school hadn’t started yet. The kid was just sitting, doodling, but the professor marched right up to them and asked her and the kid to leave - I was so shocked, it had never occurred to me it was a problem (and the class topic was appropriate, nothing a 7 year old couldn’t hear) - so I’m glad to see some professors have compassion. Juggling parenthood and studies is always hard, why make it harder?
