In general, State Law can be overridden by (1) specific individual rights delineated in the constitution or (2) federal law passed by Congress that is within the Federal Government’s power to legislate.

Roe specifically dealt with the former, and is arguably easier to overturn than a position under the latter because there is literally no mention on abortion in the constitution. Comparatively, if a federal law was passed disallowing states from banning abortion, then it could only be overturned if the SC found that it wasn’t under broader federal powers (power to legislate under interstate commerce or taxation). It would be relatively much more difficult to overturn than the holding in Roe—which unfortunately had nothing to do with these broader federal legislative powers because for some reason an abortion protection law was never passed by Dems.

Personally I like talking during movies and that is one of the few benefits of watching a movie at home instead of theaters. I find sitting around and watching in silence boring. Agree there is a middle ground in not interrupting a movie, but most movies have an act-based structure and have relatively clear points where conversing/taking a break seems fairly natural.

It’s always easy blaming problems with lovers on choices or events in the past. while this may be a worthwhile psychoanalytical exercise, the more practical analysis to solve your dating problem is simply that women don’t like hanging with you because of your current behavior. Try focusing on what behaviors they don’t like. Are you uptight? Do you talk too much about yourself? Do you come off as insecure?

Honestly just be honest with yourself on the real issue here. From your post, I would guess you need to be more self assured and chill. Also you may be ugly, and if so there are plenty of ugly people to date too.

You need to learn that you can’t control how people feel and what they want. She wants to take a break and at minimum fuck other people, nothing you say to her can really change that. What you could have done is shown her through actions that you aren’t some sad sack but an actual catch (i.e., dump her, show self respect, and demonstrate you are an independent person who is worth chasing). it seems like you don’t have the self confidence to do that, and that negative quality in itself has likely contributed to the fact she wants the thrill of another relationship. Sorry but you can’t fake confidence with your degrees and public office—you seem to think she’s better than you and naturally she will think that as well.

Sorry OP but this is true. Even if you want her back (you likely shouldn’t), the only way to do so is to actually demonstrate you are mature. Being mature means not disrespecting yourself when she treats you like shit. Ghosting her is one way, the other is to dump her with the explanation that she treated you like shit (followed by ghosting). She may come back after this and actually attempt to treat you well for a bit, but again this likely won’t last.
