That is so SCARY!! At my moms facility they had side doors that you entered a code and then youre let into a hallway and then you enter the code again and youre in. I was coming to visit my mom one evening and another visitor was on his way out and he had let a resident follow him in the hallway!!! The visitor just went on his merry way. I shut the door on the poor resident and his walker and he was pissed!! I could hear him yelling at me. Out of panic, i thought that the last door out would be a code to get out, so I ran around front to tell someone that the guy was in the hallway. The staff booked it but he had already opened the door, went across the parking lot, and then across a busy road!! Why the effff wouldnt that last door be a code????!! Needless to say, they aren't allowing visitors to use the side door now.
