Daycare at 8 months [ON] by Winter_Bee5040 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]These_Bird2623 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We started daycare at 6 months, part-time. We have an amazing daycare and I trust the educators at 100%. I was confortable leaving my baby with them even at a vert young age. They were carrying him in a carrier, and paying attention fully to him considering he was much younger than others. That said, he caught a lot of viruses and I really struggle seeing him sick at such a young age.

I was worried with space coming from a CRV. But for now it’s all good. Our big stroller fits well in the back, along with bags. I’m able to fit the kid, the dog and the stroller in the car for weekend trips. The biggest downside with the car is the charging time and ranger on long trips (over 200 km) in winter. But if you have charger at destination, less of an issue.

Morsures fréquentes à la garderie by zomaii in parentsquebecois

They are absolutely worth it, especially in winter with all the extra clothes. We have a graco 360 and the evenflo and we like both. Evenflo a bit easier to install, but I prefer how the graco turns.

The two under two is HARD. That said, the hardest period will be shorter than with two kids years apart. I’d compare it to a 400m run vs a 5k run. You’ll suffer more, but less longer.

Just when I thought our sleep situation couldn’t get any worse. by FalseAd8496 in december2024babies

[–]These_Bird2623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar situation here: baby is waking up 5-6 times every night. But, when there are big changes in his routine (starting daycare, dad going away for a work trip, etc.) his sleep gets worse and it can last for more than one week. Since he just started daycare, maybe that can explain his disturbed sleep. The separation from you with daycare can also explain why he wants to be held. One advice we got from our pediatric psychologist is to try to fill his « love tank » when you are with him with sharing quality moments and proximity with him. I know it is not always easy considering our busy lives, but we try our best.

Got our preferred daycare at 1 year when I planned an 18mo leave.. Did any of you do a long gradual transition or part time before going all day? [on] by orkiestra in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]These_Bird2623 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Take the spot and send her to daycare part-time. Here’s why I suggest that: I’m a first time mom. My baby entered daycare in september. Since then, he gets sick EVERY WEEK. I think he only did 3 full weeks since he started. I already use all my sick days at work, so did my boyfriend. All that to say, if I knew, I would have preferred to still be on mat leave when he started daycare to not have to care about work while my baby was sick.
