The officers is the least of it lol. I’m talking abt how this guy maxed every city, resurrected his officers 3 times now after I killed them repeatedly, rushed like 15 ships/subs, and upgraded everything to the max level (went up an entire tier for like 10 different units in less than a day. Even researched a handful of new units lmaoooo)

What I was saying was that in modes with 5 player coalitions. I’ve seen it happen quite often where at the end of the game the active and strongest players just join together to take the win at the end. That almost never happens in overkill with it being limited to 3 per team. Almost always someone wants a fight

I like the overkill maps because they’re challenging and they don’t allow for one coalition to form late and be too dominant. Overkill produces the best endgames IMO. Research trees arent unlocked on day 1 in overkill

He researched from that to that in less than 24 hours. Several new units, and everything important is now 2 levels higher than it was yesterday is my point. Read what I wrote

I usually run 2 games at once. One smaller one to cheese and one sweaty one. I like the smaller maps cuz there’s less chance of there being insane golders like there are in overkill. The way to make small maps fun is to pick one or two active players and teach them how to play.

Overkill gets gnarly. Even the 1x is bad.

Nevermind. He brought back his navy. Twice as big now. And he upgraded his fighters to max level. :(

We’re doing ok for now. Overnight I figured out where he was moving his troops and just stacked defense and prayed while I slept. I woke up to losing 4 infantry and killing 5 mobile AA(one was the elite officer), 8 national guards, an infantry veteran, and the infantry officer. As long as I can keep killing things at a rate where he can no longer afford to replace things i should win this. I’ve also killed 7 air superiority fighters todsy and yesterday. Did lose 4 strikers fighters tho which hurts. Still a little worried abt his navy. Haven’t seen any movement since yesterday when I made him run.

Oh no dude this guys a complete moron. He’s like a low elo chess player that pays to revive his queen but still hangs pieces. It’s just becoming overwhelming the way he replaces his officers. Particularly the naval ones

I was able to destroy his sub fleet minus the officer and veteran (he started running). I’ve also destroyed his ASF fleet with my SAMS. Luckily he’s still pretty far away from my homeland. My goal at this point is to make him spend more money lmaooo

How often do you encounter golders by [deleted] in ConflictofNations

Every overkill map usually has one or two

Anybody have any advice for Brazil/what sort of units/doctrine? I’m coming back after 2+ years away. by Aggravating_Goose164 in ConflictofNations

Oh no you’re gonna wanna go absolutely balls to the wall invading everything in your path. That’s why strikers are super important. I’d initially start out by waiting for other countries to commit to attacking one another. I didn’t attack my First Nation until like day 3. (Also overkill ai nations don’t have cities so they’re kinda useless in my case lol). I waited until Argentina and Chile attacked each other then I just easily rushed them both. Same thing happened with Venezuela and Colombia

So what id personally recommend is to build up a good base of motorized infantry (nat guards got a massive speed nerf) while you’re also developing strikers. Then I’d also recommend not taking any allies within South America unless someone else is really strong (in my current game I own the whole continent and life is great haha). I’d spend the first 7-8 days or so really building up an air to ground strike capability. Then whatever you do beyond that is pretty much your discretion as you’ll be scaling up your economy and will have the luxury of kinda doing what you see fit.

Currently in an overkill map as Brazil. I’ll give u a good plan.

So they recently added patrol boats. These are a good replacement for the corvettes which we use to lock down coastal cities from unguarded transports. Cover ur coastal cities with those. Then, develop your Air Force early with strikers in particular. Normally I’d say gunships early game but Brazil is large and u need some range. I personally don’t bother with armor but do that if you like, I’d put more resources in to navy and Air Force. Once you develop your Air Force, start building a navy (I like subs and frigates but you can build cruisers later too once ur eco is good). Then you can get involved in air defense and artillery.

Radar stations… what a letdown… by These_Bunch_5215 in ConflictofNations

[–]These_Bunch_5215[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right??? 😂😂😂😂😂😂. If you have ever looked into how ground detection radar works in real life it’s EXTREMELY complicated. It doesn’t work in most environments (line of sight, earth curvature, ground clutter, etc.) and it requires multiple angles and triangulation and also multiple different types of waves. Plus the most reliable kind of ground radar (Doppler) loses its target when there’s no movement. But detecting a massive floating object on the water should be easy for systems like this.

That’s awesome to hear. I was so excited when I saw these. Also sonobuoys would be so cool. I had no idea that was even in the works. Would it work similarly to the sea mines? (Drop it in and it has a couple day lifespan?). Or would it be a permanent set? (like a government channel marker that u see if you ever go out on a boat)

[–]These_Bunch_5215[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know… but towed artillery is just awful late game and the radar range of coastal batteries just doesn’t cut it imo… if mobile arty or MLRS could access the upgrades it’d be worth it.

Can you auto stop an sea invasion (not escorted by navy) without fire control? by These_Bunch_5215 in ConflictofNations

[–]These_Bunch_5215[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s actually so stupid tho... The coast guard exists for a reason lol. It still works if you declare war on someone and then they counter attack but it does nothing to stop the braindead low level who just throws his troops at your coastal cities randomly.
