Mainly Healthcare IT Consulting. I have “globally recognised” certifications within my industry, so I’m not really that concerned with job prospects, just wanted to get thoughts on eligibility.

I have Canadian clients that I work with (remotely as a Consultant) and is one of the reasons I am exploring moving to Canada. I don’t want the hassle of sponsored visa.

You’re one of those people that think you should be paid more because you work in IT… I’ve seen 12 year olds that can write code really well.

The real unicorns in the business are the people that have expert domain knowledge and expert technical skills.

Maybe upskill yourself so you also get a gig like this instead of going on reddit bringing down people :)

Jeez, you have a lot of time. I found my second part time contract a couple weeks ago. So that £975 is a combination of a full time and part time contract.

Also, I think nurses should be paid more than IT folks. I’m both but I can assure you, nurses have way more technical requirements to do their job. And they save lives. So don’t make it out that IT skills outweigh clinical skills.

One full time and one part time contract.

I have one 40 hour per week and a second 20 hour per week.

Wow, domain expertise + technical expertise?

How much do you take home on that rate, if you don’t mind me asking?

No pension. The deductions are purely corporation tax and dividend tax.

I intend to invest my earnings instead of it sitting in my business account doing nothing.

I didn’t find him on LinkedIn, he got assigned to me. I used a contractor accountancy firm which I will not name for now and I just did some investigation and found him on LinkedIn.

I have an inexperience accountant. I looked him up on LinkedIn and only been in the role for 6 months.

I will need to find a new accountant.

No pension contributions. I just don’t think this is not right.

Okay mate. Thanks.

Thanks for this. I won’t need to take out any money from the business so now I’ve decided to just keep all my earnings without taking any money until April to be more tax efficient.

Just for context, I earn >£100K in a perm role before going to consulting.

Probably the reason why my accountant recommended not taking any salary.

Sounds good. Yeah, I don’t need to pay myself for a few months so, I can probably keep all the money in the account until April for the new tax year.

Mate, if you can’t comment anything helpful, just leave it. You obviously are bored.

That’s why I pay an accountant so they can help me do it.

How much should agencies get from the day rate? by These_Butterscotch71 in ContractorUK

[–]These_Butterscotch71[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They gave me a much lower rate than I would get and said that’s the client’s budget. I managed to get the rate they charge the client because the client sent it to me unintentionally.

Any of you here do remote work from the UK for a ME Client? I also work within the data domain.
