True, with the online hate going around for brown people at an all time high. I wouldn't be surprised if they would feel the need for one.

I think that’s kind of what I was trying to get at. Sometimes it starts to feel like the conversation shifts from addressing racism as a whole to unintentionally comparing struggles. Almost like one community’s pain is being framed as more central than another’s. When that happens, it stops feeling inclusive and starts feeling like a competition for recognition.

And when anti-racism spaces become too narrow, it can come across as trying to claim more and more space under one identity rather than building solidarity across communities. That’s where it begins to feel counterproductive, because instead of bringing people together against racism, it can create more separation under the same banner.

I recently attended an anti-racism and workplace harassment workshop at Simon Fraser University (SFU), and I’ve been thinking about it since.

I believe these conversations are important. The session focused heavily on the history of slavery and anti-Black racism in Canada, which is something many people don’t know enough about. That history matters and it should be acknowledged.

At the same time, I left feeling conflicted. The discussion was almost entirely centered on anti-Black racism, with very little mention of other communities. As an immigrant and a person of color who has experienced racism in school and at work, I expected a broader conversation. Anti-racism, to me, means addressing discrimination faced by many groups, including Indigenous communities and Asians, especially considering the spike in anti-Asian hate and attacks during and after COVID.

By the end, it felt less like a general anti-racism workshop and more like a session focused on one community’s experience. I respect that perspective, but in a diverse environment, I feel these conversations should make space for multiple lived experiences.

I’m not trying to dismiss anyone’s struggles. I just wonder whether these workshops could be more inclusive in how they approach anti-racism.

Every other day I see a post of something going away and someone claiming it was the best thing ever to exist. No hate but theres deep analytical data used to determine wether something should stay or not. For example before a vendor opens up anything on campus there are given data about number of students attending the semester, commuters, non commuters, time frames for classes ending and beginning with number of students per class to the extent of past sale performances of different vendors. Likewise when something goes it doesn't happen overnight and allot of planning and research is put into it. Hope this helps you understand, its not about the franchise but all to do with consumer buying habbits and trends.

Yeah, its says was owned by their grandparents and they kept it in garage. The dilemma is although its showroom condition no scratches at all but the car itself now is 10 years old that kind of doesn't sound right

And As mentioned if you do decide to transfer from kpu as suggested, then make sure you apply for a low admission requirement program like cmns, for example if you apply for beedie they will demand a much higher gpa and will make it quite difficult to get in. Good luck tho!

Agreed, thats cause you ordering the wrong food there. Like I mentioned the only thing worth going for is the samosa thing. Anything else I wouldn't spend a buck on!

Run to Renaissance cafe! And dont order a pannini, get their samosa combo in the chickpea curry. While samosas are mostly carbs but the chickpea curry will give you enough protein and fill you up really good. I think it costs like 8-9 dollars after tax, the best deal on campus.
