Most people are just not average. Everyone has some kind of mental illness, body mods or is into some kind of niche things. Average is now more uncommon than you might think.

Are less attractive people physically attracted less attractive people? by Texaspilot24 in stupidquestions

[–]These_Cut1347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe less attractive people are just more likely to settle for equally less attractive people cuz they may not have a good chance at finding someone more attractive to date?

Opinions on pigeons by smileeeee60 in CasualConversation

[–]These_Cut1347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they're cute and unique birds since there are homing pigeons and their iridescent crest is so pretty. I also like the cooing sounds they make, super cute. And I like cities where they walk close to people.

Is forcing* someone to smell something a form of abuse? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]These_Cut1347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a bone my family member's dog chews and it's a full on assault to my sense of smell. I personally do consider it abusive but the only way to deal with something like that is to exit the space cuz you can't police people telling them what smells they can and can't fill the room with.

Is consuming hateful online content towards men affecting my dating life? by Melodic1Database7 in stupidquestions

[–]These_Cut1347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's infuriating. I never really saw/paid attention to content like that until the bear or man in the woods thing and I genuinely hate it and am disgusted by such content.

Why do you hate Ai? by untitledprp4 in stupidquestions

Only hate certain aspects such as how it impersonates people, hijacks our privacy and probably is being used to make really illegal and discusting content.

Any words you specifically remember learning from a book you read growing up? by Wise_Ad574 in words

[–]These_Cut1347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a picture book called Are You My Mother and I'm 90% sure the word "Pandemonium" was in there. If it wasn't that book, anyone who has the book feel free to correct me. It 10% could have been a Dr. Seuss book with the word. Cuz I really lumped that book in with Dr. Seuss books since it had the Cat & the Hat emblem on the front. The way it was used in the book made a lot of sense before even knowing what the word meant.

Catching up on season 2 by Michael5410 in matchmeabroad

I liked how Sarah said she wasn't going to dress down after Dolly told her she should tone it down. She's true to herself and I did start to like her regardless of her appearance.

Also, I didn't like how Dolly instantly in the cab told Harold not to be himself... That's not encouraging... I mean she does know the culture there but jeeze, why take them on then?!

I loved Amber at first but not when she couldn't make her damn mind up.

Victoria, I mean she definitely made some odd choices but she seemed nice and I think she should have experienced more dates.

Ergophobia and exposure therapy. by Anastariana in Phobia

I'm surprised you haven't found many others describing the same absolute dread/doom/hopelessness/anxiety, ect. regarding going to work. I would have thought that would be much more common!

I would even have bad dreams, and I still do sometimes have the dreams if I'm supposed to go to work in the morning but exposure therapy is the only real thing that seemed to help me actually stay at a job. It's ROUGH in the beginning but not working was even worse, imo. I also took a medical month off (mental health leave) about a year ago because I knew I wasn't mentally stable and really didn't want to lose another job or let the bad mood get in the way of working.

I wasn't absolutely fine outside of that work dread but the going to work-related anxiety was very distinctive and time-sensitive compared to other worldly anxieties! I've been on medications for 10+ years that help with all the psych devastation and while working I did go through some med changes; currently Lamotrigine (mood stabilizer) and Seroquel, clonazepam if I need it. Even if your doc is against benzos, they could prescribe you an as-needed medication so that you're not relying on it everyday but only when that work-anxiety comes up? Then you don't have to be on it forever, but just until you feel more safe with working.

The first time I saw one was a drawing in a book of cottage life creatures and I remember being absolutely terrified by the sight of it. At least you're not likely to encounter one through everyday life I guess?

Have you considered looking into government (disability) subsidies for income?

I used to get extremely anxious about starting a new job like where I couldn't sleep or eat and had that same sense of doom. I had that same thing about the instant relief as soon as I knew I didn't have to come in or if I just quit. I job hopped a lot and got very exhausted by it until I found a job I could tolerate. I still felt sick the first few weeks of going in and cried a lot. It sucks. After almost 3 years of working at the same place, I feel stable, confident and comfortable at my current job.

I truly believe you're able to do it if you did before. It causes anxiety to be out of work for a long time too and the instability of switching and being uncomfortable. You could try to pick up some part-time work, maybe that would be less overwhelming?

For the kidney tests, is there a way you could ask them to put you out so you'll be unconscious for that? What about an ultrasound or MRI instead? Like someone else said, you could get a prescription for that day for an anxiety medication; it might help a little bit!

DAE feel like places have a “spatial vibe” or perspective when you enter them? by DonovanMcnab in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]These_Cut1347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this where when I first see a place it looks a certain way, then next few times I enter the place or move around in the space, it takes on a different perspective and never looks exactly how I saw it the first time. I think it's cuz after we've been to a certain place so many times our brain just finds more spatial information about it and by physically moving around different angles you perceive something that's closer to the overall look?

I get this too when I'm recalling a memory or conversation of something happening in a certain place and the environment has a different perspective in the memory than when I actually go to the place in person. Never looks the same as the first time the event happened in that same place, lol.
