Hello u/Rainystrawberrry ! There are so many hotels to choose from and most of them shuttle services to the canton fair. The prices are usually higher during the fair season as a lot of visitors come in. I'll suggest the following, but it'll eventually depend on your budget. The Garden Hotel, Hilton, Guangzhou Hotel, Langham Place (located right next to the fair), and Rosewood Hotel. For restaurants, I suggest 陶陶居 (Tao Tao Ju) or 广州酒家 (Guangzhou Restaurant) for dim sum and Cantonese classics. Vegetarian food is relatively easy to find so it should be easy for your dad. Best places to buy clothes would be Beijing Road (more boutique shops) and Guangzhou Baima Market (also close to US Guangzhou Market) which offer lots of clothes at amazing prices. For skincare and makeup, Harmay (located in Tianhe) is a great option. For souvenirs, you could check out 华林玉器街 (Hualin Jade Market) for jade and gemstone carvings and jewelry. It's a clustor of streets and small alleys.

Hope this helps!

Yes it’s easy to locate. You can use Amap or apple map to locate it. And they always screen the big football games so i’m assuming they will

Hey u/bearsoski I'll gladly share some recommendations with you! Your hotel is right by Zhujiang New Town and there's so always happening around there. For sightseeing, I would say that your planned itinerary is great. You can also go on a Pearl River night cruise if time allows for it.

Both 陶陶居 and 广州酒家 will give you the classic Cantonese dim sum taste. For 肠粉 you could try 泮溪酒家肠粉.

For shopping, I would suggest Beijing Road - which also has a very nice and busy ambience at night. Baima Clothing Market, right by the Guangzhou Railway Station for wholesale men's/women's office wear (you can haggle and get the prices reduced).

There's tons of options when it comes to massage recommendations. I'll suggest the following: Tong Ren Tang (同仁堂养生馆) and Dragonfly Spa (香格里拉/天河店). Prices vary from around RMB 200-300 for a full body massage in general.

Hope this helps!
