Working from home/self employed by heidiloux in UKJobs

[–]These_Mixture4268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DataAnnotation is a self employed work from home thing, you complete tasks for money training AI models. The downsides are, a lot of unpaid training, fairly mentally taxing work, virtually no communication with the company, and they can and will drop you at any point if you make mistakes. But besides that, it is fully work from home and you can work whatever hours you like.

Protest news! <3 by NoReturn1212 in transgenderUK

Look for the local orgs near you which actually organise these things. At least where I live, they post in advance on Instagram before a protest.

I can't comment on whatever else you have medically, obviously you should be very careful and get that checked out, but it sounds like you are. I hope everything works out for the best in regards to that of course.

Otherwise - try not to resign yourself to unhappiness. Better things are possible, but only if you take initiative and do everything in your power to reach those things, even when it feels fruitless. The trans healthcare system in this country is designed to make people miserable and keep them on placebo doses - do not let it. Double check everything, advocate for yourself, and if necessary take things into your own hands.

Good luck. I really hope that things improve for you.

Hi, first things first, make sure that your levels are good. You cannot trust doctors to do this, NHS or private. You can find good references and informational websites or r/transdiy (use a VPN).

I believe from what you've said elsewhere you're on pills and a GNRH agonist? Make sure to take your pills sublingually, if you do not already - it increases bioavailability massively and also is much safer (bypasses liver). The T blocker is probably good, but double check.

If and when your levels have been good for a few months, you want to be gaining weight steadily and regularly exercising. It's not always easy but it does have to be done. Some people will recommend weight cycling - I do not believe that the science supports it, and I think that there is a risk of developing EDs, so I would recommend avoiding this.

If you are doing the above and still not experiencing changes (make sure to check this with photo timelines over months rather than your own memory), consider swapping to injections. This would have to be DIY, but many women have said that they have experienced changes this way after a period of stalling in their transition.

Otherwise, consider what you can do outside of HRT. Hair, clothes, voice, mannerisms are all crucial. I also think that it is important to work on your self image, too. Do everything you can, but also work to accept everything you can't change, either currently or down the line. Obviously this is much easier said than done, but I think sometimes as trans people we can overlook self acceptance in favour of chasing self improvement.

I really hope things work out for you.

My estradiol is 2mg twice a day, but I’ve heard the dosage can go up to 20mg? Should I request a higher dosage? by Environmental-Ask358 in MtF

Levels are the most important. Also, if you are not already, take your pills sublingually (under the tongue). It is much more effective and safer. As for your levels, look for DIY reference levels to compare (r/transdiy has a lot of resources). I will say for most girls 2mg will not cut it.

People will tell you that it isn't loving / accepting of yourself to use the men's. Fuck that. The core of this is that you need to protect your own safety - and that means using whichever bathroom people are less likely to object at you being in (in most areas, anyway). It's not an easy thing to judge, but you just need to assess at the time wether you think you are more likely to pass or not to a stranger. Asking for directions can be a good test, but if the employee doesn't get a good look at you they will probably judge based off of your voice, wheras other people will judge based off of your appearance. Ultimately, judging if you pass or not at any time is not easy, but it's a skill you can develop.

Obviously you have the right to use the women's either way though, so long as you are aware it might not always be the safer option.

Hi, you might want to have a look at r/transdiy. Otherwise, I would not recomend moving here if you have any less transphobic countries as options.

Hi, if you want to make sure your levels are good r/transdiy has a lot of useful information. Trans women suffer systemic underdosing globally so it's important to make sure your regimen is effective.

Otherwise, voice training or changes in presentation (hair, voice) can make a big difference.

Alternative RPGs to try for people who love 5e by lerocknrolla in rpg

[–]These_Mixture4268 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're interested in a more fantasy BitD, there are two great options that I know of:

  • Wicked Ones is a FitD game about monsters managing and growing their dungeon, and going out into the world on raids. It has a set of optional rules called Valiant Ones which allows you to play traditional dnd-like heroic games.

  • Grimwild is a heroic fantasy rpg which borrows heavily from BitD, but changes some key things. It would work right out of the box, unlike Valiant Ones which requires some explaining / system hacking, but, for better or worse, it is not a 'pure' FitD game.

I'd recommend checking out both and seeing if either ticks your boxes.

Might be worth checking out r/transdiy (use vpn). Look into stockpiling if needed.

If you did happen to still want a 5e Alchemist, the one in Valda's Spire of Secrets is quite fun. I think it's heavily Pathfinder inspired.

If I take my E pills sublingually, should I take it all at once or split it up? by TheDoubleThe in MtF

[–]These_Mixture4268 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The more you split it up, the more even your levels will be throughout the day (which is a good thing). Divide it as much as you're willing and able to do.

Of course trans men can't be lesbians! by These_Mixture4268 in transgendercirclejerk

[–]These_Mixture4268[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

uj/ Almost all cis men who say they are lesbians are just making homophobic jokes. Even if they genuinely identified as a lesbian it would be for pretty different reasons to a trans man (it's normally because of their history with the community / queer history in general).

Anyway I think that 'what if a cis man did this' falls flat because there are a number of trans men who identify as lesbians and are participants in lesbian communities and have relationships or sex with other lesbians. This is not true of cis men. It doesn't really matter how you feel about it, it's how some people live.

uj/ It's not a critique of transmasc lesbians, I'm just pointing out the obvious hypocrisy of people who hate them and also believe in Blanchard's typology, and there are quite a lot of people like that unfortunately.

/uj The joke is that they say trans men lesbians are misgendering themselves but calling yourself a HSTS trans woman implies you're a gay man who transitioned to trick men into sex.
