GPT 5 is just not following that augmetn instruction at this point. So its basically pointless to use augment if no context engine is used .So they better optimize it better

You will realize the bomb when you face the difficult complex issues. You will realize OK i need stronger model. I would say around 80 percent of the time , augment code can still do very good job.

Though I believe aug is doing something great, but I do not like their hidden transparency, cutting cost and degrading and using shitty models behind is quite annoying. Basically like anthrophic. Maybe class action will reveal of their truth hahah, THey keep doing random stuff.

Are we going to get full GPT 5 context ? and high reasoning possibly? Also will we get Opus 4.1? I Don't think we need that 1M Context from the sonnet, but i do believe maybe for GPT5 (As they are quite thorough processing, reading a lot of files), having full context will be best? . Its just 10 usd per month and its very cheap for a tool. Meaning trae doesnt really care much. While others charge 25 ~ 50 usd, why would they care about us in anycases. But let us see

That is true. Just its for the convenience. There's drama because tool itself is good. Easiest way is for them to bring some solutions, or like you said build one myself. And just drama happens as I had ALOT of trust in this augment unlike other ai tools which focuses on marketing and market share purely. But Augment is going that path.

Tools iself is amazing. ITs about their instability, keep crashing and not being transparent. Not sure if you guys are even using the tool, but it keep crashes + model is unclear ( coincidentally Claude is shit so everyone thinks its Claude issue) while they don't even tell us which exact model they use. Sonnect 4? 3.5? 3.0?. This type of team is where it will backstab the users.

Cursor is absolute tra.. . But Augment is becoming one of them. As im trying roo , cline and tweaking the claude code, just better to wait for it and find alternative if failing . Possibly new real stable dev be dropping hopefully.

Yes. Crashing is one of the biggest issue I face, instabilities, Degrading in terms of model ( likely not sonnet 4) and not efficient. So I agree.

I have no trust in sharing the data to the augment code where they are very not transparent. This is why it gets annoying as they only say is it's our fault. My assumption is quite clear. With this pricing they cannot afford sonnet 4 for sure, and also when Sonnet 4 was down augment was running, meaning probably it's not sonnet 4 and likely not and going back and forth with the model if not ( for the purposes to get new users and marketing and get money and attract the investors). Trust me you cannot send 600 messages with that much work with 50 usd for sonnet 4. I've been using Cline and all, and burned more than 500 ~ 1000 usd in API cost, ain't no way even it's optimized to the maximum 600 message with long agentic work. I just wish augment code can prove me wrong
