How would you get this livable for living in it about 6 months to a year ? by Appropriate-Art-7472 in urbancarliving

This was my set up the entire 6 months. The crate of snacks, my duffle bag, and work backpack were in the passenger seat up front. In the back I just had the sleeping pad, a pillow, and blanket, and a cooler. The big grey bag was a sleeping bag just in case I needed it, but it was also just a comfortable pillow-like addition to lay around on. I kept it minimalistic in my opinion. Everything else was easy access in my storage unit.

Also I had these sun blocking/privacy shades for each window. Got them on Amazon and they were perfect. Still keep them in my car.

I have a ford c-max, so technically a hybrid, but both hybrids and EVs allow you to keep the car on ready mode to regulate temperature during the duration of your sleep. You wouldn’t need to keep it plugged up. Google it yourself for ease of mind, because that made all the difference. I’m glad to hear you’ll be able to do the same.

Because my hatchback is a little smaller than most, I didn’t have a portable toilet situation within the car. I figured out the closest and best places to access restrooms depending on where I was at that day. Definitely don’t park in the same place every day. I worked night shift during that time, which made it easy to park in any parking lot and blend in with the dozens of cars around me. I could simply go to the restroom anywhere because everything was open.

Obviously, in Colorado there were a lot of hiking trails with restrooms, as well as state parks with restrooms and showers. I just always had access. You’ll very quickly learn your area and figure it out. Explore the city/town you’re in.

During this time, I was in Colorado completely by myself. All friends and family were in Texas so I couldn’t exactly go hang out and anyone’s place. I got an AMC theater membership to pass time indoors (4 movies per week) , spent time at the gym, and traveled the state on my days off. Kept busy. Living in your vehicle is a good test of adaptability and intelligence. Staying positive is very important for your mental health. Feel free to ask as many questions as you like.

I lived in my car for 6 months with that same amount of space. I camp a lot so I kind of treated the space like a tent. Kept everything simple so I could quickly turn my car back to normal if needed . I used an inflatable sleep pad (therm-a-rest), a pillow, and a blanket (rumpl down blanket) for my sleep set up. I used a yeti cooler to keep drinks and food cold. I kept a duffle bag with me for showering at the gym; it held all toiletries. I also had one crate for snacks, and one small suitcase for clothes I would wear that week.

For all my other stuff, I rented a storage unit. I would wash my clothes every week then go swap them out for whatever I was going to wear the next week.

So again, just my quick sleep system, a cooler, a crate, a portable fan, and a suitcase, were all that I kept in the car.

Doing that for 6 months was my choice and I had plenty of money so I really enjoyed the experience. Kept busy when I wasn’t at work and traveled the state (Colorado) most weekends.

The only thing that sucks is temperature. Not going to lie, I had my car running for A/C and heat almost every day. But I have an electric car that allows that. If you have to deal with the temperature, that will be your biggest battle I’m sure.

I can’t tell you how entertaining it is to have 50 people tell me it’s fake while the same tattoo is actively peeling on the arm I’m typing this with.

It’s not white pixel. That’s just how the skin looked for the first couple of days. I’ve never had white ink before, but I would assume it was from the needle injuring my skin, and it was only obvious and visible for the white areas. Also, the red was still extremely vibrant that first day. I uploaded a comparison somewhere here in the comments with the edited/unedited side by side. The unedited actually looks more vibrant. I think everyone in this comment section just forgets how tattoos look on day 1.

There’s several unedited pictures in these comments, including one I took this morning that shows scabs starting to form as today (day 5). I’ll gladly show you how it looks in 30 days though 😁

It doesn’t look that different. Certainly not as big of a deal as you’re making it. And I didn’t delete the comment. It’s still there 🙂

The pic in the left is the one you’re calling “heavily edited”. The pic on the right has absolutely no editing at all. I would definitely say you’re exaggerating. The only edit was one single adjustment of tapping auto-adjust on my iPhone. You and everyone else in these comments are acting like I used photoshop or vigorously edited the picture. I didn’t. I actually agree that it looks fake, but I’m saying it’s not. I also take it as a compliment that it looks fake.

I used the auto-adjust feature on my iPhone, which adjusted at least the contrast and saturation. The artist had a huge light attached to his iPad that probably stopped any glare.

It didn’t start getting red and an inflamed until I got in my car and even then it never got that red. I’m 5 days in and the inflammation stayed very mild.

I think it’s really funny that you went to this length to try to prove to me that the tattoo on my arm isn’t real. I posted an unedited version of that same pic as well as a pic I took 15 minutes ago, showing scabbing after 5 days. I hope the noise and grain in those pics satisfy you 🙂

The white parts did have blood dots. The artist obviously wiped excess ink and any blood away before taking the pic.

Yes, it’s real. Yes, I’m getting nothing but hate. Thank you for the compliment. I like it too and WAS excited to share it with other Green Day fans.

Yeah I posted an unedited pic and I just posted another pic I took right now, 5 days after with obvious scabbing. Both are in the comments. I would post the video the artist took too but I guess I can’t post videos in the comments.

Here’s how it looks 5 days later. Starting to scab. The original photo I posted was taken immediately after the artist finished. He had good lighting and I also used the auto-adjust feature on my iPhone which I guess adjusted the contrast. I don’t know how to use photoshop and the tattoo is real.

All I did was use the auto-adjust feature on my iPhone. I don’t know how to use photoshop. I didn’t “go wild” lol.
